Job Description

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-driven procurement & raw material Purchase Manager to manage the end-to-end procurement cycle of raw and packaging materials. This position plays a critical role in material planning, vendor management, and compliance with operational and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Procurement & Planning:

  • Plan Raw Material (RM) and Packaging Material (PM) requirements using ROP/Max stock methodology.
  • Maintain daily updated planning sheets to ensure optimal stock levels.
  • Float RFQs and obtain competitive quotations from approved/new vendors.
  • Generate and follow up on Purchase Orders for RM & PM based on demand and inventory levels.
  • Source new raw materials in consultation with the technical team to support R&D and cost efficiency.
  • Maintain updated price records and vendor contracts.

2. Logistics & Inventory Control:

  • Coordinate with shipping agents and vendors for timely delivery and clearance of materials.
  • Follow up for shipment documentation and update logistics trackers.
  • Oversee proper segregation and compliant storage of RM & PM in coordination with RM officer.
  • Support quarterly stock-taking and report variances to Operations and Finance teams.
  • Plan to age raw material consumption with Technical Manager and execute monthly stock adjustments.

3. Regulatory Reporting & Compliance:

  • Submit monthly reports on consumption and inventory of precursor chemicals to the Ministry of Health.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant ISO standards (9001, 14001, 45001) and internal IMS systems.
  • Maintain documentation and assist in internal/external audits and inspections.

4. Support & Training:

  • Work jointly with EHS Executive on 5S initiatives.
  • Conduct training sessions for workmen and vendors on procurement processes and compliance expectations.
  • Collaborate with internal departments (technical, operations, finance) for procurement alignment.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Logistics, Chemistry, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
  • Additional certification in procurement or supply chain (e.g., CIPS, CSCP, PMP) is preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in purchase & sourcing / vendor development, in a manufacturing or chemical industry setting.
  • Experience using ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics) for procurement and inventory control.

Skills & Attributes:

  • Strong vendor management and negotiation skills.
  • Working knowledge of import/export documentation and port clearance.
  • Proficient in Excel and supply chain analytics.
  • Familiarity with ISO and Ministry of Health reporting requirements.
  • Highly organized, process-oriented, and able to work under pressure.
  • Team player with effective communication and reporting skills.
  • Problem-solving and critical thinking skills
  • Customer orientation and ability to adapt/respond to different types of characters.
  • Immediate joiners will be given preference.
