Job Summary: The Purchase Coordinator will be responsible for the efficient and effective procurement of materials, equipment, and services required for various construction projects. This role involves managing vendor relationships, negotiating prices, ensuring timely delivery, and maintaining accurate purchase records. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of construction materials and processes, excellent organizational skills, and a keen eye for detail. Key Responsibilities: • Procurement Management: • Coordinate with project managers and site teams to determine material and equipment requirements. • Prepare and issue purchase orders, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies. • Source and evaluate potential suppliers, negotiating favorable terms and prices. • Monitor and track orders to ensure timely delivery and resolve any discrepancies or delays. • Vendor Management: • Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, fostering long-term partnerships. • Conduct regular performance reviews of suppliers to ensure quality and reliability. • Maintain an updated database of approved vendors and their contact information. • Inventory and Cost Control: • Assist in managing inventory levels to minimize waste and optimize storage. • Identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements in the procurement process. • Reconcile invoices with purchase orders and delivery notes. • Documentation and Reporting: • Maintain accurate and organized records of all purchase orders, contracts, and related documents. • Prepare regular reports on purchasing activities, expenditures, and supplier performance. • Ensure compliance with all relevant purchasing procedures and regulations. • Collaboration: • Liaise effectively with various departments, including project management, finance, and logistics. • Provide support and information to project teams regarding material availability and lead times. • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering. • Minimum of 5+ years of experience as a Purchase Coordinator or similar role within the construction industry in the UAE. • Proven knowledge of construction materials, equipment, and their specifications. • Strong negotiation and communication skills. • Proficiency in procurement software and MS Office Suite (especially Excel). • Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities. • Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy. • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. • Fluency in English (Arabic is a plus).
