Job Description

1. PERSONNEL JOB DESCRIPTION

1.1. Organizational Relationships

Reports to: Production Foreman/ Supervisor.

Coordinates with: Internal Departments like machine shop, assembly line, painting, etc.

1.2. Basic Function:

The Pump Technician understands the principles of pump operations, its parts, and has the ability to troubleshoot systems. Has a complete understanding of standards and specifications. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable regulations.

1.3. Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

1.3.1. Ability to assemble/disassemble, clean, and inspect various types of pumps, with a complete understanding of standards and specifications.

1.3.2. Measure and examine parts to ensure conformance to specifications using precision instruments such as micrometers, working within demanding time constraints.

1.3.3. Assemble, test, and prepare pumps for final assembly.

1.3.4. Select, align, and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machines as necessary.

1.3.5. Read and understand blueprints, sketches, manuals, and other documentation related to items/parts/equipment.

1.3.6. Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills.

1.3.7. Convey information related to ongoing jobs to the shop foreman effectively.

1.3.8. Consistently meet timelines and deadlines.

1.3.9. Be available to work overtime as needed.

1.3.10. Maintain a clean and organized work area and ensure all equipment is kept in like-new condition, following maintenance plans and procedures.

1.3.11. Check the quality of work prior to seeking approval.

1.3.12. Foster a positive work environment by acting and communicating professionally with customers, clients, co-workers, and management.

1.3.13. Follow orders and directions given by immediate superiors.

2. SECOND PRIMARY PERSON IN-CHARGE

2.1. Basic Functions

The Secondary Primary Person assumes responsibility in the absence of the employee and maintains departmental procedures and daily tasks.

2.2. Primary Duties and Responsibilities

2.2.1. Review hand-over sheets from the departing employee, including deadlines, status updates, key activities, and asset issuance (if applicable).

2.2.2. Thoroughly check all relevant spreadsheets and files used by the department.

2.2.3. Take over the work of the departing employee to ensure continuous workflow and prevent disruptions in connected departments.
