• Own day-to-day client and project management, driving work forward.

About the Role

We are looking for a communications professional who thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and is passionate about energy and technology. You should be energized by complex subject matter, enjoy creative problem-solving, and be proactive in managing client deliverables.

Candidates must have communications experience in the MENA region, particularly in Dubai and Saudi Arabia, with a focus on the power, energy, or renewables sectors. Arabic language proficiency is required. Agency experience is strongly preferred. Must be located in Dubai or Riyadh.

Responsibilities

• Own day-to-day client and project management, taking initiative to drive work forward and ensure high-quality deliverables and timely communication.
• Develop, execute, and manage PR and media outreach plans from concept through completion across traditional and digital channels.
• Proactively identify media opportunities and story angles, building and maintaining strong relationships with journalists in the energy and technology sectors.
• Create clear, compelling content including press releases, pitch letters, articles, social media copy, speaking abstracts, media briefs, and talking points.
• Closely monitor MENA energy and renewables news to surface timely, proactive media outreach opportunities.
• Secure media placements, speaking roles, and conference opportunities, managing the full outreach and follow-up process.
• Regularly collaborate with Mercom’s global communications teams to regularly align initiatives, messaging and outreach.
• Participate in virtual meetings and provide progress updates to the global team.

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years of PR or communications experience in the energy, power, or renewables sectors.
• Experience working directly with journalists in MENA energy and environmental media outlets.
• Strong Arabic and English writing skills
• Proven ability to manage multiple client projects independently.
• Strong strategic thinking, time management, and interpersonal skills.
• Agency experience preferred; ability to work independently while collaborating virtually with international teams.
• Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, or related field preferred.
