GEMS Royal Dubai School is seeking a dynamic Psychology Teacher to join from August 2027, delivering high-quality psychology teaching across a growing secondary phase and contributing to curriculum development as the new secondary campus expands.

You will plan engaging lessons, use robust assessment to track progress, and work with colleagues and families to support student outcomes in a premium British curriculum environment.

Qualifications

  • A recognised teaching qualification and degree in psychology or a closely related subject.
  • Experience of teaching Psychology at secondary level and the ambition to grow a department.
  • A proven record of securing strong student outcomes.
  • Excellent classroom practice, behaviour management and communication skills.
  • The ambition, adaptability and collaborative mindset required to contribute to a growing secondary school.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver consistently excellent, engaging Psychology lessons aligned with the relevant examination specification, using strong subject knowledge and effective pedagogy to develop conceptual understanding, critical thinking, research skills and the evaluation of psychological evidence.
  • Set high expectations for achievement, behaviour and participation, creating a safe, inclusive and purposeful learning environment in which every student can succeed.
  • Use assessment effectively to adapt teaching, provide meaningful feedback, track progress and implement timely intervention.
  • Develop psychology curriculum planning, resourcing, assessment and moderation, and preparation for future GCSE and post-16 Psychology pathways as the secondary phase grows.
  • Build strong relationships with students, colleagues and families, working collaboratively and communicating progress clearly.
  • Contribute actively to the wider life and culture of the school through pastoral responsibilities, enrichment, extra-curricular activities and community events.
  • Demonstrate a reflective, solution-focused High-Performance mindset and engage fully in professional learning, coaching, appraisal and quality assurance.
  • Promote and safeguard students’ welfare and personal development, following all school policies, procedures and reporting requirements.

GEMS Royal Dubai School is a vibrant, premium British curriculum school, educating students from FS1 to Year 9, expanding to include Year 10 in September 2027, and annual growth to Year 13. With a diverse student body of over 870 students from more than 48 nationalities, the school combines a strong sense of community with a commitment to the highest academic standards. As the school continues to grow, it is opening a new, purpose-built secondary campus designed to further enrich the world-class education offered across two sites.

The role

We are seeking a dynamic and passionate Psychology Teacher to join the team from August 2027. The successful candidate will deliver consistently excellent psychology teaching that inspires curiosity, develops students’ understanding of human behaviour and psychological theory, and secures strong progress for every student. The postholder will play a strategic role in the development of psychology across the growing secondary phase and uphold the values, standards and wider vision of GEMS Royal Dubai School.
