Description

The Division of Science at NYU Abu Dhabi invites applications for full‑time faculty positions in Psychology. We seek applications from early‑career scholars for a tenure‑track assistant professor position, as well as established scholars (associate or full professor) with a demonstrated record of excellence in research and leadership in the field.

We particularly encourage candidates working in any area of perception, cognition, and cognitive development, and candidates working in any area of social psychology, including those adopting a developmental perspective in their approach.

We seek scholars whose research intersects with and/or cuts across existing faculty domains of interest. Current strengths in the Psychology Program at NYU Abu Dhabi include the study of vision, memory, language, political psychology, inequality, gender, early childhood development, and attachment and identity throughout the lifespan.

Responsibilities

Successful candidates will contribute to a vibrant research and teaching environment, support interdisciplinary research across NYU’s global campus network, and collaborate with highly motivated colleagues.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated record of scholarship, including high‑quality research and leadership in the field.
Research Facilities

Successful candidates will have access to a faculty research grant and state‑of‑the‑art facilities, including:

  • An imaging center with a Siemens Prisma 3T MRI scanner and two MEG systems (SQUID and OPM), supporting multimodal data acquisition (MEG+EEG+eye‑tracking; fMRI+EEG) and integration with a high‑performance computing facility.
  • Behavioral testing facilities equipped with standalone EEGs, eye‑tracking, virtual reality, physiological measures (GSR, heart rate, etc.), robotics, and social psychology experimental rooms.
  • A state‑of‑the‑art Child Observation Lab equipped with video and audio recording technology and a one‑way observation window.

We will begin reviewing applications immediately. Shortlisted candidates are expected to be invited for campus visits in early Spring 2026. Successful candidates can start the appointment and relocate to Abu Dhabi in the academic year 2026‑2027, subject to final budget approval.
