Job summary

Matter Labs builds private settlement infrastructure that lets regulated institutions settle directly with each other without exposing data. Their core product, Prividium, uses zero-knowledge proofs to provide private settlement environments for institutional finance.

The role focuses on securing the architecture and protocols behind this infrastructure, with hands-on threat modeling, blockchain security expertise, and collaboration with development teams to advance private, compliant settlement

Qualifications

• Security engineering/research track record.
• Proficiency in strongly typed languages (C++, Go, Scala).
• Strong algorithms and data structures fundamentals.
• Experience with protocol-level debugging in distributed systems.
• Knowledge of recent blockchain security incidents.
• Excellent written and spoken English.

Responsibilities

• Threat modeling and secure review of Solidity contracts and Rust state transitions.
• Own secure architecture across protocol components from design to production.

• Break things on purpose through threat modeling and review of Solidity contracts and Rust state transition functions
• Own the secure architecture and implementation of protocol components from design to production
• Track industry hacks and exploits to convert lessons into system improvements
• Embed secure-design practices across development teams
• Apply AI systems to scale security work
• Participate in security investigations and incident response

Requirements

• Demonstrated record in security engineering or research
• Proficiency in strongly typed languages such as C++, Go, or Scala
• Deep grounding in algorithms and data structures
• Experience with protocol-level debugging and root-cause analysis on distributed systems
• Working knowledge of recent blockchain security incidents
• Clear written and spoken English

Preferred Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with Solidity smart contracts, ZK circuits, or core blockchain protocols
• Public security research, audit reports, or bug-bounty results
• CTF history
