Job summary

Siemens Mobility in Abu Dhabi is seeking a Protection Design Engineer to analyze project specs, design protection and RTU/SCMS panels, and guide the drafting team. You will perform site visits, prepare base designs, and coordinate with engineering managers to ensure drawings and BOQs meet Siemens standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor Engineering degree from local or international University in Electrical Engineering.
• Good communication skills in English language (written and spoken) with the ability to work in a team environment.
• Min 5 to 8 years' experience in Protection & Automation Designs is a must.
• Software skill set hands-on experience in A-CAD, ELCAD, EBASE, MS Visio.

Responsibilities

• Analyze the technical information of the project by reading the project specification, project scope of work, single line diagram, Protection logic diagram, existing system data and required technical clarification with the customer.
• Customer Site Visit, Analyze the solution for Retrofit design, preparation of site survey reports, method of statement and risk assessment formats.
• Prepare Base Designs documents as per the Siemens engineering standards (AC/DC load, CT/VT adequacy check, Technical Data sheet, Specification compliance).
• Prepare and guide the assistants to prepare the Detailed Design documents for Protection /FMS/RTU /SCMS panels as per the Siemens engineering standards.
• Preparation for ordering BOQ based on the design approval.
• Attend vendor meetings, customer meetings, factory visits for design reviews and site topics related to engineering.
• Keep communication with Engineering Manager reporting pending issues and status of design.
• Control and influence the execution of the forecasted engineering schedule in terms of design.
