Job description

Project Engineer - Al Dhafra, Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates
  • Establish and manage an effective planning and progress control system to support the Project Manager's decision-making process, enabling project completion according to internal baselines and contractual requirements.
  • Identify deviations from the plan promptly, analyze their impact, estimate time effects, and monitor the effectiveness of corrective actions.
  • Create a schedule awareness culture among all project participants.
Tasks

During the commercial phase :

  • Develop the project schedule aligned with commercial needs, verify its feasibility and criticality.
  • Participate in commercial risk management activities.

At project start-up :

  • Implement the Planning and Progress Control System as required by project complexity, risks, and duration, ensuring compliance with the Project Breakdown Structure, Company Standards, and Contract specifications.
  • Coordinate with other company functions, discipline leaders, supervisors, and managers to develop activities, assign milestones, and establish constraints through logic networks.
  • Prepare baseline documents and communicate planning and scheduling requirements clearly to responsible teams.
  • Issue relevant reports, planning & scheduling procedures, progress measurement procedures, and risk management plans for verification.
  • Organize risk management activities, including initial brainstorming and qualitative/quantitative risk assessments.
  • Conduct schedule risk analysis for highly critical projects.
During project execution :
  • Ensure the effectiveness of the planning and progress control system, monitor progress, and ensure proper information flow across all project phases.
  • Update schedules with actual data, evaluate forecasts, and monitor deviations, implementing corrective actions as needed.
  • Maintain risk management processes through regular meetings and feedback verification.
  • Record significant events such as contractual claims, productivity, deliverables, and materials status, utilizing company and partner IT systems.
  • Create and maintain 90-day look-ahead schedules, identify adverse trends, and alert project management for corrective actions; generate weekly and monthly reports.
  • Assist in preparing project status reports and participate in coordination meetings.
  • Support contract change and claims processes with time impact analysis.
At project closure :
  • Assist in preparing the project close-out report and provide schedule and productivity feedback to the Project Control and Commercial Departments.
