Job summary

Al Tayer Group is seeking a dedicated Planning Engineer to prepare turnkey work programs per guidelines of the Project Manager/ Estimation Manager and monitor progress to ensure completion within the specified time frame.

The role involves coordinating with the Construction Manager and Planning Engineer to ensure plan adherence, preparing master project schedules for tender review, tracking progress, and reporting variations. Collaboration with Design and Procurement is required to avoid delays.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Civil Engineering with strong planning knowledge.
• 4+ years planning experience in fit-out/joinery.
• Proficiency with Primavera/MS Projects.
• Attention to detail and time management.

Responsibilities

• Prepare work programs specifying time required to complete each process of construction such as material procurement mobilization, installation, manpower requirement etc.
• Prepare master project schedule during tender and program for review and approval by Construction Manager/Execution team and clients.
• Monitor progress with Planning Engineer to ensure plan adherence; prepare progress reports and explain variances.
• Attend monthly project review meetings with Consultant/PM, prepare and submit reports to management.
• Coordinate with Design and Procurement to manage submissions and material lead times for smooth progress.
• Track long lead materials with ATS procurement and subcontractors.
• Provide monthly progress updates to QS for progress/variation invoices.
• Prepare critical path analysis and impact program for EOT assessments.
• Prepare labour monitoring reports for turnkey and joinery departments on budget vs actual.

Job description

To prepare turnkey project work programs as per the guidelines provided by the Project Manager/ Estimation Manager and monitor the progress of the project against the plan to ensure its completion within the specified time frame.

Responsibilities

• Functional Roles and Responsibilities
• Prepare the work programs specifying time required to complete each process of construction such as material procurement mobilization, installation, manpower requirement etc.
• Prepare master project schedule and plans during tender and program to the Construction Manager / Project Execution team and clients (where required) for review and approval
• Monitor closely each process of the project in co-ordination with the Construction Manager/ planning engineer to ensure that the plan is being followed properly and the work is proceeding as per the programme. Prepare reports on progress and causes of programme/ progress variations.
• Attend monthly project review meeting with Consultant / Project Management representative, prepare and submit report to management as required. Also review monthly progress report for all the projects based on site visit and project progress review.
• Prepare project progress report for the perusal of the management highlighting the achievement against program and in case of a delay investigate the cause and suggest corrective action to redeem the situation
• Co-ordination with Design Department and Procurement department to manage timely submissions and material lead times ensuring smooth project progress.
• Tracking of long lead materials both from ATS purchase department and subcontractors.
• Providing monthly progress update to the respective QS to help in preparing monthly progress/ variation invoices.
• Preparation of critical path analysis and impact program in assessment of EOT
• Prepare labour monitoring reports for turnkey and joinery department on budget vs actual for each project and to reports deviation on labour cost.

Qualifications

• Education/Certification and Continued Education
• Diploma or Degree in Civil Engineering with Good working knowledge of Primavera/ MS Projects is essential
• Years of ExperienceMin 4 years planning experience in fit out/ joinery

• MS Project or Primavera
• Good knowledge of Construction business gained through formal training or minimum 2 - 4 years of experience in construction, experience in fit out preferred
• Good knowledge of construction processes
