Job summary

Safran Group in Dubai seeks an experienced Project Manager to lead the Transfer of Work (TOW) for the Yankee Class seat product line. You will coordinate planning, tooling transfer, and production ramp-up, acting as the industrial voice from transfer planning through to series acceptance.

The role requires strong PM skills and a deep understanding of electro-mechanical assembly, IFE integration, and aerospace quality requirements, with travel to sending/receiving sites as needed.

Qualifications

• Engineering Master’s degree (mechanical, electrical, industrialization, aerospace, manufacturing) or equivalent.
• Experience in production transfer / Transfer of Work (TOW) projects.
• Industrialization tools and methods (FMEA, PPAP, FAI).
• Manufacturing routings and control plans.
• Good understanding of electro-mechanical assembly and seat actuation/electrical systems.
• Aerospace quality requirements (AS/EN 9100, EASA/FAA/GCAA, Part 21).
• Project planning and management (MS Project, PMI/Agile/Lean).
• 5 to 8 years' experience in industrial project management, ideally in aerospace or demanding industrial environment.

Responsibilities

• Define and manage the YC product line TOW schedule (milestones, deliverables, resources).
• Coordinate transfer of technology, know-how, tooling, and equipment to the Dubai site.
• Manage electro-mechanical complexity including seat actuation and IFE integration with Engineering and suppliers.
• Own QCD performance for the TOW project and report to Management and the Program Manager.
• Lead project review meetings (transfer gates, milestone reviews) and report to stakeholders.
• Identify and assess transfer risks; define and track corrective actions.
• Oversee production readiness activities (workstation setup, line balancing, takt time).
• Coordinate industrial validation activities (FAI, PPAP) to confirm equivalence with sending site.
• Ensure compliance with aerospace certification requirements throughout transfer.
• Coordinate the training plan for local operators with Training Project Coordinator.
• Interface between sites across Engineering, Methods, Production, Quality, Purchasing, Supply Chain.
• Represent the YC TOW project in discussions with stakeholders.
• Capture lessons learned to improve future TOW standards.

The Project Manager leads the Transfer of Work (TOW) of the Yankee Class (YC) seat product line into the Safran Seats Dubai site, acting as the industrial voice for this product line from transfer planning through to production ramp-up and series acceptance. The scope of the role starts with the transfer planning of the YC product line and ends with stable series production at the Dubai site. You will coordinate the TOW project across Industrialization, Engineering, Methods, Production, Quality, Purchasing, Supply Chain, and Training, as well as with the sending site's teams.

• Define and manage the YC product line TOW schedule (milestones, deliverables, resources) in line with Safran procedures, APQP Methodology and program commitments.
• Coordinate the transfer of technology, know-how, tooling, and equipment from the sending site to the Dubai site.
• Manage the added technical complexity of Yankee Class seats, including electro-mechanical actuation systems, electrical harnessing, and In-Flight Entertainment (IFE) integration, in coordination with Engineering and specialist suppliers.
• Own QCD performance for the YC TOW project and report to Management and the Program Manager.
• Lead project review meetings (transfer gates, milestone reviews) and report to stakeholders.
• Identify and assess transfer risks; define and track corrective action plans.
• Oversee production readiness activities, including workstation setup, line balancing, and target takt time achievement for the YC product line.
• Coordinate industrial validation activities (FAI, PPAP) to confirm equivalence with the sending site's process and product.
• Ensure control of critical processes and compliance with aerospace certification requirements (Part 21, EASA/FAA/GCAA as applicable) throughout the transfer.
• Coordinate the training plan for local operators and technical staff with the Training Project Coordinator.
• Act as the interface between sites (Engineering, Methods, Production, Quality, Purchasing, and Supply Chain) throughout the project.
• Represent the YC TOW project in discussions with stakeholders.
• Capture lessons learned from the transfer and contribute to improving future TOW standards.

Given the added technical complexity of Yankee Class seats (electro-mechanical actuation, electrical systems, IFE integration), the ideal candidate combines strong industrial project management skills with a good understanding of electro-mechanical assembly. This position is based at the Safran Seats Dubai site, with travel to the sending/receiving sites required during the transfer phase.
