Job summary

A leading company in interior contracting is seeking a Project Manager to oversee interior fit-out projects from conception to completion. This role requires strong leadership and project management skills, along with extensive experience in the UAE's interior fit-out industry. The successful candidate will ensure projects are executed on time and to the highest quality standards while managing internal teams and subcontractors.

Qualifications

Job description

As a Project Manager at J WALT, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing the execution of interior fit-out projects from conception to completion. Your role involves working closely with project engineers, architects, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
4.1. Responsibilities
  • Good command of reading engineering drawings.
  • Schedule, coordinate, and supervise the daily activities of gangs/site operatives.
  • Share and pass on knowledge to teams.
  • Ensure documentation is properly completed in line with Customer/Company requirements.
  • Ensure all work is carried out in line with approved method statements.
  • Organize and monitor the work of subcontractors on site.
  • Control the technician and helpers as per site execution requirements.
  • Find subcontractors for MEP & Civil work.
  • Have knowledge & understanding of estimations and BOQ preparations.
  • Obtain the project completion certificate signed by the client.
  • Manage customer relationships on the technical side.
  • Oversee end-to-end operations activities, from site visits to work completion.
  • Coordinate operations by planning & assigning team members for site visits & supervision.
4.2. Project/Work Coordination
  • Identify the right workforce to execute the project (internal team/external suppliers).
  • Communicate & get confirmation of project scope & price from suppliers (obtain formal quotes).
  • Confirm workforce availability & schedule.
  • Coordinate work with the client & workforce (internal team/external supplier).
  • Complete all required documentation (e.g., Risk Assessment, Method Statement).
  • Arrange necessary prerequisites for the project (permissions, approvals).
  • Ensure all communications and agreements with suppliers & clients are formal.
4.3. Site Supervising
  • Prioritize safety & motivate workers to work disciplinedly.
  • Provide daily safety instructions to workers.
  • Assess safety hazards & report them to the concerned team.
  • Arrange permissions to perform work at the site.
  • Ensure compliance with HSE, legal, and client rules & regulations.
  • Maintain quality standards at every work stage.
  • Keep the site clean and safe (maintain housekeeping).
  • Manage work progress, avoid scope creep, and report regularly.
  • Manage the project & work site until client sign-off.
5. QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
5.1. Essential qualifications
  • Bachelor's in Civil / Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  • 10-12 years of experience in Interior Fit-out industry in site supervising & project management in UAE.
Skills
5.2. Key competencies
  • Solid knowledge of civil works, MEP, HVAC & project coordination.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Experience with computers, internet, and search engines like Google.
  • Good understanding of business activities.
