Job summary

EDGE, headquartered in the United Arab Emirates, is seeking an experienced Project Manager – Subsystems (Navigation) to lead complex navigation programs in a mission-critical environment. Halcon is the executing line, coordinating with engineering, program management and stakeholders.

The role requires driving projects from concept to delivery, managing scope, schedules, budgets and performance, and ensuring compliance with contractual and technical standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum 8 years' hands-on project management experience in Defence, Aerospace, Navigation, Avionics, Electronics or safety-critical systems.
• Proven experience delivering complex engineering development programs on time and within budget.
• PM certification (PMP or PRINCE2) is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead Navigation Subsystem projects from concept through completion.
• Define and manage scope, schedules, milestones, resources, budgets, and deliverables.
• Collaborate with engineering to support system engineering, testing, quality, and configuration management plans.
• Ensure project deliverables meet contractual requirements and technical specifications.
• Engage with stakeholders to align project outcomes with business objectives and customer expectations.
• Mentor and develop junior team members; promote knowledge sharing.

About the Role at Halcon

Halcon is seeking an experienced Project Manager – Subsystems (Navigation) to lead the delivery of complex navigation subsystem programs within a highly technical and mission‑critical environment. This role is responsible for driving projects from concept through successful completion, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives while delivering against budget, quality, schedule, and performance requirements.

The successful candidate will work closely with engineering, program management, and business stakeholders to manage navigation‑related development projects, coordinate multidisciplinary teams, and ensure compliance with contractual, technical, and organisational standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of complex Navigation Subsystem projects from concept through completion.
• Define and manage project scope, schedules, milestones, resources, budgets, and deliverables.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to support the development of system engineering, testing, quality, and configuration management plans.
• Ensure project deliverables meet contractual requirements, technical specifications, and organisational standards.
• Engage with internal and external stakeholders to align project outcomes with business objectives and customer expectations.
• Monitor project performance, budgets, and resource utilisation to ensure on‑time and cost‑effective delivery.
• Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks, issues, and dependencies throughout the project lifecycle.
• Establish effective project governance, reporting, and communication processes for leadership and stakeholders.
• Manage project changes and ensure appropriate controls are in place to achieve project objectives.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance project delivery, quality, and operational efficiency.
• Conduct project reviews, audits, and health checks to ensure compliance with schedules, budgets, and quality standards.
• Mentor and support junior team members, promoting knowledge sharing and best practices in project management.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Business, Project Management, or a related discipline.
• Project Management certification (PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent) is highly desirable.

Preferred

• Masters Degree in Business Administration (MBA) or a related field.
• Advanced Project Management qualifications.

Experience

Essential

• Minimum 8 years of hands‑on project management experience within the Defence, Aerospace, Navigation, Avionics, Electronics Systems, or Safety‑Critical Systems sectors
• Proven experience managing complex technical or engineering development programs.
• Demonstrated success delivering projects on time, within budget, and to quality requirements.

Project & Technical Expertise

• Expert knowledge of project management tools, methodologies, and governance frameworks.
• Strong understanding of project financial management, budgeting, and resource allocation.
• Working knowledge of safety‑critical development processes.
• Understanding of electronic systems development lifecycles and systems engineering principles.
• Advanced proficiency in:
