Job summary

GOPA Tech is leading the execution of a landmark 1800 MW utility-scale Solar PV project in the UAE, with international financing and oversight across planning, leadership, cost control, compliance, and QHSE.

The ideal candidate will have a strong PV background, at least 15 years of experience in the sector, 5+ years as a Project Manager, and PMP or equivalent solar certifications. Experience in the Middle East is highly preferred.

Qualifications

• Accredited University Graduate Degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, or related field.
• 15+ years of professional experience in the photovoltaic (PV) sector, with strong background in utility-scale solar projects.
• At least 5 years of proven experience as a Project Manager, preferably within consulting organizations.
• PMP (Project Management Professional) certification or solar-specific certifications are an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Project Planning & Design – prepare and oversee comprehensive project plans, define scope, objectives, deliverables, resources, and timelines.
• Team Leadership & Coordination – lead and motivate cross-functional teams among engineers, contractors, consultants, and stakeholders.
• Budget & Cost Management – manage project budgets, monitor expenditures, and implement cost-control measures.
• Regulatory Compliance – ensure UAE and international regulations, permits, and approvals are met.
• Quality Assurance (QA/QC) – uphold quality standards and drive continuous improvement.
• Risk Management – identify risks and develop mitigation strategies.
• Stakeholder Engagement – build relationships with clients, government bodies, contractors, and suppliers.

Project Manager with GOPA Tech leading the execution of a landmark 1800 MW utility-scale Solar PV project in the UAE, financed by international stakeholders, with responsibility for planning, team leadership, cost control, compliance, and QHSE.

GOPA Tech is searching for a Project Manager to lead the execution of a landmark 1800 MW Solar PV Project in the UAE, financed by international stakeholders.

What you will do

Potential fields of responsibility include:

Project Planning & Design – preparing and overseeing comprehensive project plans, defining scope, objectives, deliverables, resources, and timelines to ensure successful execution.

Team Leadership & Coordination – leading and motivating cross-functional teams, fostering collaboration among engineers, contractors, consultants, and stakeholders to achieve project goals.

Budget & Cost Management – managing project budgets, monitoring expenditures, and implementing robust cost-control measures to ensure efficiency and accountability.

Regulatory Compliance – ensuring compliance with UAE and international regulations, including timely acquisition of permits and approvals.

Quality Assurance (QA/QC) – upholding the highest quality standards throughout all project phases, implementing continuous improvement initiatives.

Risk Management – proactively identifying project risks and developing effective mitigation strategies.

Stakeholder Engagement – establishing and maintaining strong relationships with clients, government bodies, contractors, and suppliers.

QHSE Leadership – promoting a culture of Quality, Health, Safety & Environment excellence and ensuring adherence to all relevant standards.

Accredited University Graduate Degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field.

Minimum 15 years of professional experience in the photovoltaic (PV) sector, with a strong background in utility-scale solar projects.

At least 5 years of proven experience as a Project Manager, preferably within consulting organizations.

Prior project experience in the Middle East is highly preferred.

PMP (Project Management Professional) certification or equivalent; solar-specific certifications are an advantage.

Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to manage diverse teams and complex stakeholders.

In-depth knowledge of QHSE standards and best practices.

Experience with internationally financed projects.

Full professional proficiency in oral and written English.
