Vanderlande Industries GmbH seeks a Project Manager Engineering in Dubai to oversee projects in a multidisciplinary team. You will lead project execution, ensuring timely deliverables and managing resources while promoting team development. Your department:
The Solution Engineering department is responsible to develop a winning commercial proposal, in close cooperation with the Sales Management department during the sales phase, and to successfully implement the as sold total solution with the Project Execution department. The department consists of a wide range of expertise to enable the design and sell a total solution towards customers and to execute these designs when awarded. Key of the Solution Engineering department is one responsibility to sell and execute a total solution within one team, without critical interfaces to other departments.
Your position:
As a Project Manager Engineering, you are leading a multidisciplinary team of project engineers. With this team, you are working towards the successful completion of one or more projects in an international environment. You steer the progress of your project and closely guard costs and quality, taking action where necessary. You have a sharp technical conscience and are capable of overviewing the entire project, while at the same time being able to zoom in on details if needed. You steer subcontractors and you are able to discuss all technical project issues with customers and reach agreement. In addition, the people in your project team have your special attention. You will be responsible for the development of individual employees and the specific skills of your group. You coach, facilitate and make adjustments when necessary. You will report to the Manager Engineering and have frequent contact with the Project Manager(s) and Integration Manager(s) of the projects you work on.
Tasks and responsibilities:
• Leads one or more large and/or complex projects.
• Defines the project plan and project planning.
• Manages the project’s budget, planning and risks & opportunities, and reports periodically on the status of these topics in the Project Status Report.
• Manages timely delivery of all engineering deliverables, including specifications, materials, documentation, training, and service take over.
• Works closely together with PM, IM and (lead) engineers, and coordinates the activities of the project team consisting of all engineering disciplines.
• Performs the health and safety analysis and is responsible for the safety coordination during the engineering phase.
• Is line manager for all members of the multidisciplinary team of project engineers. • Plans the resources in the team, and signals resource / competence needs to ensure a balanced multidisciplinary team of project engineers.
• Focuses on continuous development of the individual members of the team and the team as a whole.
Your profile:
• A technical degree at least at bachelor level
• Significant experience as a project leader, familiar with scope, planning, budget and R&O management
• Ability to speak both the customer’s language and that of the engineers in your team
• Pragmatic attitude and able to balance quality, lead time, costs and technology
• Proactive and takes initiative
• Ability to coach employees to get the best out of themselves
• Excellent verbal and written skills in English.
