Job summary

Confidential is seeking an experienced Project Manager with a strong background in construction and infrastructure to lead government infrastructure projects in Abu Dhabi. The role requires managing projects from planning through handover, ensuring alignment with approved scope, schedule, budget, quality, and government requirements.

The ideal candidate will oversee planning, execution, risk management, cost control, and stakeholder coordination with UAE authorities, consultants, and contractors

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or related discipline.
• 6–8+ years of relevant experience in project management, construction, or infrastructure delivery.
• Experience managing large-scale construction and/or infrastructure projects.
• Experience within UAE government-related entities is highly desirable.
• PMP certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end delivery of construction and infrastructure projects from planning and design through execution, completion, and handover.
• Develop and monitor project plans, schedules, budgets, milestones, and resource requirements.
• Coordinate with government stakeholders, consultants, contractors, and external parties to ensure effective delivery.
• Manage project risks, issues, dependencies, and changes with timely mitigation and escalation.
• Review progress, identify delays or challenges, and implement corrective actions.
• Oversee contractors and consultants to ensure compliance with designs, contracts, and standards.
• Monitor project costs and financial performance; support budget management.
• Review technical submissions, schedules, and progress reports; prepare status updates.
• Facilitate project meetings and ensure clear communication and follow-up on actions.
• Ensure projects comply with UAE and Abu Dhabi government regulations, standards, policies, and procedures.
• Support procurement, tendering, contract administration, and contractor management.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing projects throughout their lifecycle, ensuring delivery in line with approved scope, schedule, budget, quality, and applicable government standards and requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the end-to-end delivery of construction and infrastructure projects from planning and design through execution, completion, and handover.
• Develop and monitor project plans, schedules, budgets, milestones, and resource requirements.
• Coordinate with internal government stakeholders, consultants, contractors, and other external parties to ensure effective project delivery.
• Manage project risks, issues, dependencies, and changes, ensuring timely mitigation and escalation where required.
• Review project progress, identify potential delays or challenges, and implement corrective actions.
• Oversee contractors and consultants to ensure compliance with approved designs, specifications, contractual requirements, HSE standards, and quality expectations.
• Monitor project costs and financial performance and support effective budget management.
• Review technical submissions, project reports, schedules, progress updates, and other key project documentation.
• Facilitate project meetings and ensure clear communication and follow-up on actions and deliverables.
• Ensure projects are delivered in accordance with relevant UAE and Abu Dhabi government regulations, standards, policies, and procedures.
• Support procurement, tendering, contract administration, and consultant/contractor management as required.
• Prepare regular project status reports and provide recommendations to senior management on project performance and key risks.
• Coordinate project handover, completion, and close-out activities, ensuring all documentation and requirements are completed.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, Project Management, or a related discipline.
• 6–8+ years of relevant experience in project management, construction, or infrastructure delivery.
• Strong experience managing large-scale construction and/or infrastructure projects.
• Experience working within a government entity, government-related organisation, infrastructure authority, developer, consultant, or major contractor in the UAE is highly desirable.
• Strong understanding of project lifecycle management, construction methodologies, contracts, cost, schedule, quality, and risk management.
• Experience coordinating multiple stakeholders across complex infrastructure projects.
• Strong knowledge of the Abu Dhabi/UAE construction and infrastructure environment.
• Project management certification such as PMP is preferred.
