Job Description:

We are looking for the right individual capable of running an international large diameter segment tunnel contract. Unless you have segmental tunnelling experience, please do not apply for this role.

Key Accountabilities:

  1. Ensure the site is run in a safe and efficient manner that reflects the high standards that Joseph Gallagher Ltd are renowned for.
  2. Ensure the commercial performance of the contract is maximised.
  3. Produce procurement schedules and liaise with the procurement department to ensure sites have adequate resources to complete the tasks.
  4. Continually forecast, keeping the team informed of forecasts and changes, and manage the scope meticulously, knowing the costs for unplanned construction work or resources and keeping that set-aside.
  5. Report risks and opportunities to the senior management team.
  6. Deliver the work to the specified quality without defects. Ensure production and implementation of Project Plans, RAMS, ITPs, and waste management plans, in line with Company procedures.
  7. Ensure detailed site diaries/records are completed. Maintain commercial tension to drive out cost and challenge the status quo.

Job Skills, Experience and Qualifications:

  1. Experience of managing tunnelling projects within highly regulated environments in the UK. TBM is the main tunnelling work, so previous experience in this is required.
  2. Proficient in NEC3 Options contract and change management.
  3. Experienced in Design Management Programme & Risk Management, production of CVR, including cost control, forecasting, and value assessment.
  4. Degree/HNC in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
  5. SMSTS.
  6. Ability to challenge designs and resolve problems to conclusion.
  7. Ability to manage and deliver a successful project with minimal guidance.
