Job summary

AECOM in Dubai, United Arab Emirates is seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee the pre-contract design phase, ensuring coordination between design teams, clients, and consultants while managing timelines, budgets, and resources. The ideal candidate has at least 5 years of PM experience, a Bachelor's in built environment, and PMP or PRINCE2 certification.

Proficiency with MS Project or Primavera and knowledge of UAE regulations are essential; familiarity with design processes and risk

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of project management experience.
• Bachelor's degree in built environment; PMP or PRINCE2 certification preferred.
• Proven expertise managing design/construction projects in the UAE/Middle East.
• Strong proficiency with project management tools (Microsoft Project, Primavera).
• Knowledge of UAE building codes, regulations, and approvals.
• Analytical and organizational skills; ability to manage budgets, resources and timelines.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage design phase activities from project initiation through pre-contract completion.
• Develop project plans, schedules, and budgets for design phases.
• Facilitate communication between internal teams, clients, consultants and stakeholders.
• Conduct design reviews and QA checks to ensure compliance with project specifications and regulatory requirements.
• Identify, analyze, and mitigate project risks and implement corrective actions.
• Monitor project performance against KPIs and provide status reports to senior management.
• Manage design consultant contracts, scope of work and deliverables.
• Maintain detailed project documentation including design specs, meeting minutes and compliance records.

Job Description

We're looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Project Manager to join our organization in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. In this role, you will oversee the pre-contract design phase of projects, ensuring seamless coordination between design teams, stakeholders, and consultants. You will be responsible for managing timelines, budgets, and resources while maintaining the highest standards of quality and compliance. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong analytical capabilities, exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to make decisive decisions in a fast-paced environment.

• Coordinate and manage all design phase activities from project initiation through pre-contract completion
• Develop comprehensive project plans, schedules, and budgets for design phases, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives
• Facilitate communication and collaboration between internal teams, clients, consultants, and external stakeholders
• Conduct design reviews and quality assurance checks to ensure compliance with project specifications and regulatory requirements
• Identify, analyze, and mitigate project risks and issues, implementing corrective actions as needed
• Monitor project performance against established KPIs and provide regular status reports to senior management
• Manage design consultant contracts, scope of work, and deliverables
• Maintain detailed project documentation, including design specifications, meeting minutes, and compliance records
• Customize project management processes to align with client requirements and organizational standards
• Coordinate with procurement and finance teams to manage design-related budgets and expenditures
• Ensure adherence to local UAE regulations and industry best practices throughout the design phase

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of project management experience
• Bachelors degree in built environment subject. International Accreditation (MIStructeE/MICE /RIBA /AIA/PMP or equivalent preferred).
• Proven expertise in managing design projects within the construction, real estate, or engineering sectors
• Strong proficiency with project management tools and software (Microsoft Project, Primavera, or equivalent)
• Advanced knowledge of design processes, methodologies, and industry standards
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage complex project variables
• Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, resources, and timelines effectively
• Project Management Professional (PMP) or PRINCE2 certification
• Experience working in the UAE or Middle East market
• Knowledge of local UAE building codes, regulations, and approval processes
