Bachelor of Technology/Engineering (Civil)

Nationality: Any Nationality

Vacancy: 1 Vacancy

Asset Management:

  • To forecast requirements for labour, discuss and agree on all labour requirements with Engineers to ensure that labour costs relate to tender allowances.
  • Work force management - movement of employees between projects depending on the project stage and skill requirement. Reallocation of staff on project completion.
  • Train and mentor Engineers in areas of project management, estimation and contracting.
  • Inspect and observe work in progress to ensure that procedures followed and materials used are in line with project specifications and quality standards.
  • Develop a schedule for project completion that effectively allocates the resources to the activities; equipment allocation schedule to be prepared and shared with purchase department to facilitate scheduling.
  • Closely monitor machinery and notify General Manager on machinery to be capexed and machinery that needs to be replaced/scraped.

Project Operation:

Planning

  • Prepare and complete action plans; implement production, productivity, quality and customer-service standards; resolve problems; complete audits; identify trends.
  • Develop a detailed project plan and track its progress.
  • Determine and monitor resource (time, money, equipment) required to complete a project.
  • Prepare organization chart for each project under you, assign roles to team members and set deadlines to achieve targets. Document all quality concerns of sites through reports. Report should have necessary visual supporting and should include recommendations for implementation.

Coordinating

  • Work hand-in-hand with the project team and project support team at various stages of the project.
  • Ensure that Engineers do proper follow up for material delivery; material reaches the sites on time.
  • Coordinate with clients, subcontractors, vendors for flawless execution of projects.

Directing

  • Conduct meetings regularly and assist project teams to develop status reports to keep management informed on progress of various projects.
  • Directing Engineers to ensure that daily targets are given to Labours and Tradesmen.

Execution

  • Ensure work is carried out in accordance with the specifications/drawings provided.
  • Perform risk management to minimize project risks.
  • Use appropriate verification techniques to manage changes in project schedule and costs.
  • Responsible for onsite Health & Safety, encourage safe work practices and rectify job site hazards immediately.

Report:

  • Execute daily operations of monitoring the work executed by the Engineering team at site and prepare interim and project completion reports.
  • Help Engineers in the arrangement and analysis of projects and scheduling of reports on projects.
  • Oversee the preparation, compilation and coordination of standard template cost reports (work done, cash flow, payments, accruals, planned vs actual budget, variances, forecasts, analyses etc.) for ongoing projects.
  • Supervise monitor and report project progress throughout the project cycle to ensure on time completion. Lead project progress meetings and coordinate with other departments.
  • Supervise the preparation of construction plans, specifications, estimates and other contractual documents.

Human Resource:

  • Develop and maintain KPIs for the team. Set goals, monitor progress and direct the workflow of the department to assure standards are met. Responsible for regular performance evaluations and annual review of performance.
  • Training and development of subordinate employees to improve project performance and enhance individual career development. Recognize employees with potential who once trained could shoulder additional responsibilities.
  • You will be involved in the recruitment of new staff.
  • Ensure workload is covered effectively and processes are being followed.
  • Promote cross-functional training within the team to promote job enlargement.
  • Direct all field personnel to achieve completion of the project on schedule, within budget, with quality workmanship that conforms to original plans and specifications thus ensuring to meet the client’s expectations.

Finance:

  • Manage cash flow requirements for the projects and control expenditure within project budget.
  • Meet or exceed project labor budget expectations.
  • Develop and implement project execution strategy, ensure the implementation of quality control standards and cost control on project for on-time completion.
  • Responsible for accurate/timely project documentation and job file maintenance in office and field.
  • Forecast requirements; prepare an annual budget; schedule expenditures; analyze variances; initiating corrective actions.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • 12 years of experience in swimming pool construction and landscape.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Ability to lead large teams and bring them to work together.
  • Knowledge of MS Projects, Primavera is an added advantage.
