Position: Project Manager

Job Location: Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates

Job Purpose: To manage and oversee construction projects, ensuring timely delivery within budget and quality standards. Responsible for planning, coordination, risk management, and team supervision, while maintaining effective communication with all stakeholders and ensuring compliance with regulations and contracts.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Project Planning and Scheduling:

  • Develop and maintain project schedules, timelines, and milestones.
  • Coordinate with architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment with project goals.
  • Create and update project plans, considering resource allocation and budget constraints.

Budget Management:

  • Monitor and control project budgets, ensuring that expenditures are within approved limits.
  • Work closely with the finance department to track costs, analyze variances, and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Prepare financial reports and forecasts for project stakeholders.

Contract Administration:

  • Review and negotiate contracts with contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers.
  • Ensure that all parties involved adhere to contractual obligations.
  • Manage change orders and variations to contracts, assessing their impact on the project timeline and budget.

Quality Assurance and Compliance:

  • Establish and enforce quality standards for construction work.
  • Conduct regular inspections to ensure compliance with design specifications, building codes, and regulations.
  • Implement quality control processes and address any issues that may arise during construction.
  • Monitor the reuse of excavation materials to optimize environmental sustainability and cost efficiency, in coordination with relevant specialists.

Risk Management:

  • Identify potential risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.
  • Monitor and manage project risks throughout the construction process.
  • Implement contingency plans as necessary to address unforeseen challenges.

Communication and Coordination:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact between the project stakeholders.
  • Facilitate effective communication among project team members, clients, contractors, and regulatory authorities.
  • Conduct regular meetings to update stakeholders on project progress and address any concerns.
  • Coordinate directly with relevant government authorities, including Abu Dhabi Municipality, to ensure project alignment, address issues, and obtain necessary approvals.
  • Ensure timely preparation, review, and submission of all required project reports and documentation to stakeholders, including regulatory bodies.

Health and Safety:

  • Ensure that construction activities comply with health and safety regulations.
  • Implement and enforce safety protocols on the construction site.
  • Collaborate with safety officers to address any safety-related issues promptly.

Problem Resolution:

  • Address and resolve issues that may arise during construction, such as design discrepancies, delays, or conflicts among project team members.
  • Implement effective problem-solving strategies to keep the project on track.

Client Relationship Management:

  • Foster positive relationships with clients by providing excellent service and addressing their concerns.
  • Keep clients informed about project progress and any changes that may affect the scope, schedule, or budget.

Team Leadership:

  • Lead and motivate the project team, providing guidance and support.
  • Foster a collaborative and positive working environment.
  • Monitor attendance, performance, and discipline of the supervision team. Oversee the preparation of timekeeping and payroll-related reports.
  • Identify training needs and tools for the team and support professional development initiatives to enhance supervision quality.

REQUIREMENTS

Educational Background:

  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Civil/Architecture.
  • PMP, IPMA Certification.

Relevant Experience:

  • Not less than 15 years of relevant experience in the construction supervision field.
  • Not less than 7 years of experience in a similar position in the consultancy field.

Skill Set Requirements:

  • Excellent English and Arabic verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent skills in: Project Management, Contract Management, risk management, change management, Project Cost Controlling, Project Cost Allocation, Lean Management, Budget Allocation, reporting, planning.
  • Well-versed with Local & Federal Authority Rules and Regulations, and Civil Engineering Codes as well.
  • Excellent command of Electronic Document Management Systems such as ACONEX or equivalent.
  • Working knowledge and experience with Project Management platforms/software.
  • Knowledge of both theoretical and practical aspects of project management.
  • Basic knowledge of infrastructure works.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of project-related information. Uphold professional ethics and follow internal communication protocols and reporting lines.
