A leading engineering consultancy in the United Arab Emirates is seeking a Discipline Engineer to assist in developing photovoltaic systems and related renewable energy projects. The ideal candidate will have 2-3 years of experience, proficiency in engineering software, and strong communication skills. Job description
Assists Project Manager / TL in developing FEED and
Detailed Design for photovoltaic systems, solar energy
projects, battery energy storage systems or related renewable
energy projects.
Attends internal and external project meetings and assists in
the preparation of Minutes of Meetings.
Participate in Project meetings and review workshops.
Monitors work in progress and prepares weekly reports of the
status of each assignment.
Ensure project deliverables are submitted as per planned
schedule.
Ensure interfaces / requirements between all disciplines are
incorporated where required, to achieve objectives.
Support in progress reports in coordination with the Project
services team.
Interpret clients’ requirements and effectively communicate
with the team.
Monitor compliance to applicable codes, practices, QA / QC
procedures, performance standards and specifications.
Cooperate and communicate effectively with the project
manager and other project participants to provide assistance
and technical support.
Evaluate, organize and prioritise workload within a schedule
Able to demonstrate sufficient technical knowledge and
awareness of details to be able to recognize the identification
of technical problems and to initiate appropriate corrective
actions.
Familiarise with industry software and tools used for
photovoltaic system design, such as PVsyst, Helioscope, or
equivalent.
Stay updated on industry advancements, emerging
technologies, and best practices to enhance the company’s
competitive edge in the photovoltaic sector
Seek guidance on areas beyond technical knowledge and
manage the implementation of solutions.
Support in the preparation of proposals (tendering).
Attends all the company-organized training courses when
invited.
Be aware of and obey the Company Health, Safety and
Environmental, and Quality rules & perform the activities as
per IMS.
Qualification
Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation
skills.
Proficiency in AutoCAD, PV design software (PVSyst), BESS
2 – 3 years experience in a discipline engineer role
Strong knowledge of electrical systems, circuit design, power electronics, and energy storage systems.
Problem-solving and Client Management Skills
