What you will do

The Project Engineer is a key role reporting directly to the Senior Project Manager of Fire Protection systems for the Middle East region. Based in Abu Dhabi, you will be part of a growing team responsible for Fire Protection System projects within the Oil & Gas sector in the Middle East. Your responsibilities include preparing, scheduling, coordinating, and monitoring engineering projects, reviewing compliance with NFPA codes & UAE life safety standards, QA/QC policies, performance standards, and project specifications. You will interact daily with clients to interpret their needs and represent them in the field.

As part of this team, you will work in a vibrant environment that offers a platform to leverage your experience in supporting presales and estimation activities.

How you will do it

As an experienced Project Engineer, you will have expertise in project execution and complex knowledge of firefighting system design, including Fire Protection (water-based systems), Gas Suppression, Foam, and Alarm Detection Systems within the Oil & Gas sector in the Middle East. You will develop project objectives by reviewing proposals, plans, and conducting technical studies such as specifications, datasheets, operation philosophies, C&E matrices, and procedures. You will determine project specifications by studying designs, customer requirements, and performance standards. Managing project schedules involves studying plans, calculating time requirements, and sequencing activities, while maintaining progress and resolving issues. You will prepare status reports, analyze information, and recommend actions. Managing the project encompasses design, procurement, and installation activities within budget and schedule, aiming to exceed customer expectations.

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
  • Minimum of 5 years experience managing major fire fighting system projects in the Oil & Gas sector within GCC countries
  • Strong technical knowledge of Fire Protection (water-based systems), Gas Suppression, Foam, and Alarm Detection Systems
  • Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills
  • Knowledge of project cost management, revenue generation, and invoicing
  • Solid organizational skills, including attention to detail and multitasking
  • Experience in material ordering and vendor management
  • Responsible for producing and issuing technical documents, drawings, and calculations for manufacturing
  • Work experience in UAE, Oman, Kuwait, or Qatar within the Oil & Gas sector
  • Proven track record in cost estimation during design and development, recommending cost-effective solutions, and producing high-quality professional documents
  • Fluency in English
  • Valid driving license with ability to travel
  • Experience in revenue, invoice, and cash flow forecasting, and achieving set plans
