Job description

RINA is currently recruiting for a Project Engineer: International Railway System Safety Specialist (RAMS) to join its offices in the United Arab Emirates and Bangladesh within the Project Engineering Division.

Mission

The Railway System Safety Specialist (RAMS) contributes to the reliability, availability, maintainability, and safety of transportation systems. They support projects through hazard analyses, risk assessments, SIL evaluations, and operational process assessments.

Key Accountabilities

1. Support the design process management. Perform hazard analyses and risk assessments in critical processes during project phases.
2. Collaborate with project teams to define reliability and availability targets.
3. Develop recommendations to improve safety and mitigate risks.
4. Conduct FMEA (Failure Mode Effects Analysis).
5. Prepare detailed reports on risk assessments, hazard analyses, safety plans, and hazard logs.
6. Coordinate with cross-functional teams to implement recommended actions.
7. Monitor system performance against RAMS objectives.
8. Ensure compliance with RAMS railway / metro standards and regulations.
9. Participate in design reviews with a focus on safety aspects.
10. Audit existing systems and processes to identify improvements.
11. Provide technical support during integration and validation testing.
12. Support commissioning activities, review test plans, and attend tests.
13. Develop training materials on RAMS principles.

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering
