Job description

Job Purpose

As a Project Engineer, you will manage the design and development of commodity and system projects in fields such as Cabin Interior, IFE, and Avionics. Your role involves defining technical specifications of aircraft products and configurations based on input from all internal stakeholders, ensuring that Buyers Furnished Equipment (BFE) and Suppliers Furnished Equipment (SFE) are delivered with high quality, on time, and according to specifications.

In This Role You Will

  1. Gather requirements from internal stakeholders such as Service Delivery, Fleet Planning, Flight Operations, Catering, Airport Services, FTM, Maintenance, and Leadership. Prepare technical specifications for commodities and systems.
  2. Conduct technical evaluations of proposed BFE and SFE products, providing risk assessments and recommendations to the project manager.
  3. Manage commodity/system projects, participating in meetings such as Initial Technical Coordination, Design Reviews, and Inspections.
  4. Coordinate with Suppliers and OEMs (Aircraft Manufacturers) regularly through calls, workshops, and review meetings.
  5. Coordinate with OEMs (Airbus/Boeing) on product interface requirements, integration, maintainability, layout, and configuration.
  6. Provide regular updates on project status, key issues, and milestones to the project manager and VP of Engineering.
  7. Ensure compliance with regulatory, safety, OEM, and internal stakeholder requirements during design and development.
  8. Provide BFE material, fit check, and test parts requirements to the BFE management team.
  9. Collaborate with primary and secondary project focal points, seeking guidance as needed.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience in Engineering or Engineering Projects.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, preferably in Aviation, or holder of an Aircraft Maintenance Engineers Licence with experience in Engineering and Aviation.
  • Knowledge of latest technical developments and industry trends related to products and systems.
  • Ability to analyze and synthesize technical information for cost-effective implementation.
  • Strong project management and reporting skills.
  • Experience in managing complex tasks and making decisions in a fast-paced environment.
