The Site Engineer is responsible for liaising and working alongside architects, engineers, construction managers, supervisors, planners, surveyors, and subcontractors. The role involves ensuring site security, health and safety compliance, and the effective organization and supervision of materials and human resources to ensure smooth site operations.
Key Accountabilities
Provide technical advice on a construction site for subcontractors, craftspeople, and operatives to control site installations.
Conduct proper setting out, leveling, and surveying of the site to check plans, drawings, and quantities for accuracy of calculations.
Ensure that all materials used and work performed are as per project specifications.
Oversee the selection and requisition of materials and equipment to ensure timely delivery to the site.
Manage, monitor, and interpret the contract design documents supplied by the client/architect to ensure adherence to the contract design.
Liaise with consultants, subcontractors, supervisors, planners, quantity surveyors, and the general workforce involved in the project, and attend regular meetings to update them on progress.
Supervise and monitor the site labor force and subcontractors to ensure proper day-to-day management of the site.
Organize plant and site facilities efficiently to meet agreed deadlines.
Oversee quality control to ensure all assigned activities are completed to specification.
Prepare reports as required and resolve any unexpected technical difficulties and other problems that may arise to ensure timely and accurate submission of reports.
Experience & Qualification
Minimum Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Agriculture, or equivalent experience.
Minimum Experience: 3 to 5 years of experience in civil projects related to landscaping.
