PROJECT ENGINEER (Interior fit-out)

Job description

Duties & Responsibilities

• Manage overall operations for executing fit-out projects within cost & time norms.
• Participate in project review meetings to evaluate project progress.
• Conduct weekly meetings with the production coordinator & design department to discuss project progress and hurdles.
• Attend site meetings to establish the scope of works.
• Verify, coordinate, and participate in site surveys before proceeding with production.
• Inspect sites to observe and evaluate the condition and operability of facilities and structures.
• Prepare and monitor project schedules.
• Organize work efficiently to ensure timely project completion.
• Monitor site progress and ensure adherence to designs and specifications.
• Participate in planning & procurement of materials.
• Verify that received materials match quantity, quality, and specifications as per drawings.
• Order materials timely, with a lead time of 4 days.
• Ensure materials are ordered as per drawing and site requirements.
• Report discrepancies with stakeholders, subcontractors, and all parties promptly.
• Follow up daily on all scopes with stakeholders and subcontractors, coordinated by the project coordinator.
• Identify and lock subcontractors at the initial stage of the project.
• Ensure high workmanship quality on all site works.
• Analyze project bottlenecks and take immediate corrective actions.
• Prepare and review method statements and risk assessments (MSRA).
• Manage and supervise a team of workers effectively.
• Manage manpower according to project requirements, ensuring adequate internal and subcontractor presence.
• Update daily manpower plans and communicate them via WhatsApp 30 minutes before site work starts.
• Plan and communicate daily & weekly manpower needs in advance.
• Assess risks and control manpower as per UAE safety regulations.
• Ensure presence on site during operational hours.
• Share daily progress reports on WhatsApp within 1 hour of site closure, including work comparisons and priorities.
• Prepare record drawings, technical reports, and maintain the site diary.
• Coordinate authority inspections and approvals.
• Review project drawings and Bill of Quantities to familiarize with project details.
• Study all finishes to understand project finishes thoroughly.

ACADEMIC & TRADES QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree in civil, architecture, engineering, interior design, or a related field.
• Experience in turnkey interior fit-out, retail, commercial, residential projects.
• Proficient in analyzing technical drawings.
• Minimum 4 years of relevant work experience.
• Valid UAE driving license required.
