JOB TITLE: PROJECT DIRECTOR
Key Responsibilities
  1. Lead proposals preparation and supervise, analysis of RFQ (Request For Proposal) requirements.
  2. Prepare preliminary execution plans, supervise data collection and collation to complete the technical and financial proposal.
  3. Supervise the preparation of the overall project plan & execution strategies for management review and approval on award of a project.
  4. Manage the approved plan to achieve project deliverables and timeline objectives, including setting up the organization, mobilizing the team, and developing a schedule respecting planning, procurement, and the execution strategy in line with the Contract provisions. Sign off on key documents including project schedule levels 1-3. Setup specific plans for HSE, quality, and cost control.
  5. Participate in the preparation of the budget at the time the tender is awarded, including components such as project control, administration, and day-to-day running costs. Ensure resources are available to achieve performance and proper checking of engineering and procurement processes.
  6. Control the project through project management, engineering, discipline engineering, and construction through project and area managers. Ensure safe and efficient execution within set targets and schedules.
  7. Liaise with client senior management and troubleshoot any conflicts to ensure a smooth working relationship.
  8. Manage people-related issues, communication, and direction to the project management team and report regularly on project progress, forecasts, and performance. Monitor work progress to ensure timely execution and resolve scheduling conflicts.
  9. Ensure project managers deliver projects within the contracted duration and budget through regular meetings and performance monitoring.
  10. Provide leadership and direction to contracting agencies during project execution, maintaining relationships and ensuring high professional standards in dealings with clients, subcontractors, and vendors.
  11. Promote quality awareness and manage quality through weekly audits, rectifying non-conformances and preventing recurrence.
  12. Maintain high safety standards on all projects, ensuring positive client feedback and proactive management of safety issues.
  13. Develop monthly cost reports detailing costs, expenditures, and forecasts to minimize variances.
  14. Promote teamwork, motivate the project team, and develop potential leaders through mentoring, career planning, and training.
  15. Guide senior staff, develop development plans, and monitor performance for promotions and career growth.
  16. Lead regular meetings with the client and internal teams to address issues and ensure project alignment.
  17. Develop training plans for fresh graduates and oversee their implementation.
  18. Carry out any other duties as requested by the supervisor.
