An established industry player is seeking a Project Director to lead and oversee construction projects from inception to completion. The Project director has overall responsibility for the successful conclusion of construction projects. They oversee project managers, who coordinate teams to ensure that work is completed on time, within budget, and to a high standard. The Project director provides leadership to strategically manage risk, monitor finances and ensure each phase of work is started or completed on time. Meet or exceed the project targets in terms of scope, time and budget to ensure all projects delivered by the Contracting Company are delivered up to the quality expectations of the clients.
Oversee and provide input during the development and implementation of the project execution strategy. Work hand-in-hand with the project team to ensure effective planning and cost control for on-time completion.
Conduct in-depth reviews and analyses of all project statuses to assess operational and contractual/commercial risks that might impact the project budget and time. Validate and control commercial and contractual changes/events that result in time and cost claims and oversee the follow-up with clients to close these claims quickly.
Oversee projects during the pre-construction, construction, and closing stages by constantly communicating with the project team and providing solutions for any issues, risks, and challenges.
Monitor and report Project progress throughout the project cycle to ensure on time completion, red flagging reporting of potential risks that might have a major time or cost impact. Manage Cash Flow Requirements for the Projects. Close follow-up for timely submission, certification and collection of payments.
Provide inputs on major subcontractor selections as required regarding budget, performance and scope definition.
Provide support for project managers by coordinating and following up with company support division to ensure deliverables are met as per the project time line.
Play a key role in developing and implementing business strategies and initiatives.
Play a key role in overseeing and controlling the Project Budget.
Closely monitor, review and update the project's cost plan to ensure accuracy of the cost plan during the project life cycle.
Coordinate with clients, consultants, and subcontractors. Assist in maintaining, developing, and enhancing the company's relationships with clients, contractors, suppliers, and subcontractors to produce strategic partnerships.
Ensure that company procedures and policies are complied with at all times, including company business conduct and ethics policies.
Training and developing subordinate employees to improve project performance and enhance individual career development. Embrace and implement, when applicable, a rotational training program to empower the subordinates with various tasks such as procurement, estimation, finance and QHSE.
Ensure a positive work environment and awareness among subordinates of the company's goals and objectives.
