Job description

What you will do

As Project Development Engineer, you will partner with customers on projects in UAE and across the MEA region, including Kuwait and Qatar, to lead and/or support detailed development of HVAC projects.

You will design and develop complete HVAC solutions, validating assumptions made during solution design. Build detailed cost estimates and scope of work for assigned projects in conjunction with Field Sales.

How you will do it

  • Conduct detailed review of specifications to understand the specified requirements as well as system concepts.
  • Select HVAC equipment (such as AHUs, FCUs, CRAC, Ecology Fans, and Chillers) and apply it correctly and effectively as per customer RFQ.
  • Understand competitive products and the advantages of the JCI portfolio. Develop alternatives and optional offers that best serve the intent and position JCI advantageously.
  • Assist in preparing customer communication documents such as quotations, technical submittals, presentations, and detailed product compliance statements. Utilize specialized functional expertise as a technical support team member.
  • Perform detailed engineering or commercial analysis to quantify cost savings or other customer benefits. Assist in technical or financial benchmarking as needed.
  • Play an active role in cross-functional teams with the development of specific components of the bundled sale. Occasionally travel overseas to provide on-location support to local teams in discussions and reviews internally or with customers when needed.
  • Perform data collection at customer facilities required to perform solution design or detailed development tasks and may provide post-contract design review support.
  • Assist with presentations to technical buyers as required.
  • Remain up to date with relevant engineering or design standards and practices.
  • Participate in relevant professional organizations and work to secure relevant professional certifications and licenses (e.g., Professional Engineering license).

What We Look For:

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, HVAC, or related field.
  • Experience (suggested 8 years) in application/estimation of HVAC Systems including equipment selection, costing, and technical submittal.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities, able to cooperate with people of different levels inside/outside the company and to interact with the team to reach team goals and business objectives.
  • Proactive and timely approach to problem-solving.
  • Ability to take actions, make decisions, and generate ideas, products, and processes in a promised timely manner: involvement in designs or other work requiring creative imagination.

Preferred:

  • Specialized education in Air Conditioning & Refrigeration.
  • Function-specific licenses or certifications (e.g., Professional Engineer, Certifier, Energy Carbon Trader, BREEAM, LEED, etc.).
