Job summary

Qualifications

• BS/MS Civil Engineering from a reputable college.
• 12+ years’ experience in project management, project control and estimation, budgeting and cost control.
• Proficiency in cost engineering principles and methods including: Budgeting and Forecasting; Change Management Systems / Procedures; Work Breakdown Structures; Earned Value Systems; Revenue Recognition / Under Billing & Over Billing Analysis; Contingency allocation.

Responsibilities

• Recommend and oversee customized execution of cost control systems.
• Lead forecasting and reporting of cost performance throughout the project lifecycle.
• Analyze project performance and maintain database updates.
• Prepare executive summary reports on the approved cost baselines (budgets) and trends for various projects.
• Provide guidance, direction, and specialized assistance to projects for resolving complex cost control problems.
• Manage a team of Cost Control Engineers/Specialists with leadership and mentoring.
• Ensure cost management procedures and reporting requirements are incorporated.
• Prepare and assist in various levels of project reporting.
• Develop and implement project control strategies with delegated tasks for long-term and day-to-day activities.

Job description

Key Accountabilities:

• Recommend, oversee can customize the execution for the project’s Cost control systems to meet project requirements.
• Lead forecasting/reporting of cost performance throughout projects life cycle.
• Analyse project performance and data base update.
• Responsible for preparing accumulative Executive Summery periodic reports for the approved cost baselines (Budgets) behaviours and trends for various projects.
• Provide guidance, direction, and specialized assistance to projects for the resolution of difficult and complex project control problems.
• Manage a team of Cost Control Engineers/Specialists with leadership, mentoring and team work skills with the ability to effectively transfer technical expertise to less experienced Cost Control professionals
• Ensure that relevant cost management procedures and reporting requirements are incorporated
• Prepare and assist in various levels of project reporting.
• Document employee performance issues and participates in resolutions as appropriate and provides personnel development for the assigned employees.
• Take part in the development and implementation of project control strategies ensuring active engagement of team members by delegation of tasks to the appropriate person both on a long term and on a day-to-day basis.

Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge & Skills:

• BS/MS Civil Engineering from a reputable college.
• 12+ years’ experience in the domain of project management, project control and estimation, budgeting and cost control.
• Proficiency in cost engineering principles and methods including:

• Strong knowledge with project cost planning, scheduling and execution.
• Ability to work under minimal supervision and effectively manage multiple/changing priorities.
• Possesses knowledge of construction accounting principles with an extensive understanding of the manner in which the company establishes and documents the financial position.
• Exceptional analytical skills to effectively evaluate system performance, troubleshooting and mastery of continuous process improvement tools.
