Job summary

Global Process Systems in Dubai seeks a seasoned Cost Engineer to control and monitor project expenditures across EPCI oil and gas initiatives. The role involves verifying supplier invoices, supporting planning and budgeting, and ensuring accurate cost reporting through dedicated project management systems.

The ideal candidate has 8–10 years of cost engineering experience in oil and gas, with strong analytical and liaison skills for cross-functional teams and external clients.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, or equivalent).
• Certification in Cost Engineering or Project Management (e.g., AACE, PMI) is a plus.
• Experience in cost estimation, budgeting, financial analysis, and cost control on large-scale projects.

Responsibilities

• Control and monitor project total expenditure; verify invoices and claims from suppliers, vendors, and subcontractors.
• Provide planning and cost controlling support, including variation reporting and milestone progress monitoring.
• Perform and manage project activity scheduling and monitoring.
• Ensure project implementation via project management system and monitor purchases, invoicing and delivery to project closure.
• Prepare weekly/monthly cost reports for project activity monitoring.
• Coordinate with PMT and clients to resolve issues and ensure delivery/completion.
• Attend project meetings with PMT and external clients.
• Report cost-related data to the team and management for monthly reviews.

Job Responsibilities:

• Responsible to control and monitor project total expenditure including verifying and checking of invoices and claims from suppliers, vendors and subcontractors to ensure that all project expenditures are captured and properly recorded.
• Provide planning and cost controlling support for all projects which includes variation reporting, monitoring of milestone progress to the preparation of customer billing processes, etc
• Perform and manage project activity scheduling and monitoring
• Ensure effective project implementation and utilize productive reports from the creation of WBS with the use of project management system to monitor the status of all purchases, invoicing and delivery up to the closure of the project.
• Prepare weekly/monthly cost report for the monitoring of the project activities
• Coordinate and work with the project management team to resolve project issues to ensure the delivery/completion of the project work.
• Attend project meetings and discussions with the PMT and external clients
• Perform project costing related reporting to the team and management’s review on a monthly basis to ensure that expenditures are kept within the project budget.
• Provide cost control and planning advice to the internal PMT team as and when required.
• Undertake any other ad-hoc duties as required.

Minimum Requirements:

Education:
