Job summary
DBB in Abu Dhabi, UAE seeks a Project Controls Digital Solutions Engineer to develop and improve the centralized Command Centre and its digital reporting systems. The role combines data integration, automation and AI-powered workflow enhancements across planning, procurement, QA/QC and portfolio reporting.
You will translate business needs into reliable digital solutions, troubleshoot issues and support adoption of Power BI, Fabric and Copilot Studio across projects.
Qualifications
- 5–8+ years of relevant experience in digital solutions, business intelligence, data analytics or Project Controls.
- Strong practical experience with Microsoft Power BI, including DAX, Power Query, dashboard development and Power BI Service.
- Experience with SQL, data modelling and integrating data from multiple sources.
- Familiarity with Primavera P6 and Project Controls reporting, or the ability to quickly learn Project Controls concepts.
- Experience with Microsoft Power Automate, advanced Excel, SharePoint and Microsoft 365.
- Understanding of Power BI security and role-based access management.
- Experience in construction, engineering or project-based environments is preferred.
- Clear communication and collaboration skills with technical and business stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, integrate, operate and maintain the Project Controls Command Centre and associated digital reporting solutions.
- Gather and clarify business requirements, translating them into data models, dashboards, reports and automated workflows.
- Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards and management reports using DAX, Power Query and Power BI Service.
- Integrate data from multiple sources, including Primavera P6, SQL databases, Excel files, SharePoint and Microsoft 365.
- Build and maintain data models, queries and reporting datasets to support portfolio insights.
- Develop workflow automation using Microsoft Power Automate and streamline reporting and processes.
- Configure and manage Power BI security, including RBAC, workspace permissions and data access controls.
- Monitor solution performance, investigate data and technical issues, and improve reliability and usability.
- Work with Project Controls and other teams to align reporting practices and data definitions.
- Support adoption of Microsoft Fabric, Copilot Studio and AI capabilities.
- Maintain documentation, data definitions and user support procedures.
