Job summary

BeWunder seeks a Project Controller to oversee financials across our projects and support teams in making commercially sound decisions. You will monitor performance from planning to completion, creating transparency around budgets, costs and forecasts and help identify financial risks early.

Qualifications

• Degree in Finance, Accounting, Controlling, Business Administration or a comparable field.
• Strong Excel skills and experience with financial reporting.
• Knowledge of IFRS accounting principles and project accounting.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of the financial monitoring and commercial controlling of assigned projects across the full lifecycle.
• Prepare and update project budgets, cost plans, forecasts and cash flow projections.
• Monitor costs against budgets and provide clear visibility of performance.
• Identify deviations, analyze causes and propose corrective actions.
• Provide regular project reports and financial evaluations to support decision-making.
• Collaborate with Project Managers and stakeholders on budget management and risk.

Job description

As our Project Controller m f d you will provide reliable financial oversight across our projects and support our project teams in making commercially sound decisions You will monitor project performance from planning through completion create transparency around budgets costs and forecasts and help ensure that financial risks and deviations are identified at an early stage Working closely with Project Management Finance and other internal stakeholders you will contribute to disciplined project execution and support the continuous development of our project controlling structures and processes

Your Key Responsibilities

• Take ownership of the financial monitoring and commercial controlling of assigned projects throughout the entire project lifecycle
• Prepare maintain and regularly update project budgets cost plans forecasts and cash flow projections
• Monitor actual and committed costs against approved budgets and provide clear visibility of project performance
• Analyse financial deviations identify underlying causes and work with the relevant project stakeholders to define appropriate corrective actions
• Prepare regular project reports financial evaluations and management updates that support transparent and timely decision-making
• Partner closely with Project Managers and project teams providing guidance on budget management cost development profitability and financial risks
• Support project planning by reviewing assumptions resource requirements purchasing needs and expected project costs
• Monitor project revenue invoicing schedules payment milestones and outstanding commercial matters in coordination with Finance and the responsible project teams
• Review purchase orders supplier commitments variations and other project-related financial documentation to ensure accurate cost allocation and reporting
• Support project closing activities including final cost reviews reconciliation of project accounts and evaluation of overall project performance
• Contribute to the preparation of monthly and year-end closing activities by providing accurate project data accruals provisions and supporting documentation
• Identify financial and commercial risks at an early stage and communicate these clearly to the relevant stakeholders
• Help improve project controlling processes reporting standards templates and tools to create greater consistency and efficiency across the organisation
• Maintain accurate and complete controlling documentation and ensure that financial information is prepared in line with internal requirements

You have successfully completed a degree in Finance, Accounting, Controlling, Business Administration or a comparable field. You bring relevant professional experience in project controlling, commercial project management, financial controlling or a similar position. You have a strong understanding of project budgets, cost monitoring, forecasting, cash flow management and financial reporting. You have a good understanding of IFRS accounting principles, particularly project-related accounting, revenue recognition and the financial assessment of projects. You are confident in analysing complex financial information and translating it into clear and practical recommendations. You work in a structured, accurate and reliable manner while maintaining a strong overview of priorities and deadlines. You take ownership of your responsibilities and proactively follow up on financial deviations, risks and outstanding information. You are comfortable working closely with Project Managers and colleagues from different professional backgrounds and international locations. You communicate financial topics clearly and constructively, including with stakeholders who do not have a finance background. You have strong Excel skills and are confident working with financial, accounting or ERP systems. Experience within a project-based environment, such as events, construction, technical production, exhibitions or a related industry, would be an advantage. You are fluent in English, both written and spoken. Additional language skills are an advantage. You enjoy working in an international, dynamic and collaborative environment and remain composed when priorities or project requirements change.
