Job Description:

The opportunity

You as Project Business Controller will be part of Hitachi Energy. You will be expected to support the Project Manager in all financial and commercial matters and actively drive the project’s performance. Assigned to multiple projects, you will also support the OU controller with business controlling.

How you’ll make an impact

• Support the tender manager on financial aspects during the tender stage, providing input to negotiations on commercial issues and participating in local and global risk review processes.
• Provide input to the Project Execution Plan on financial aspects during project execution.
• Prepare project invoices, financial accounting, and reporting on projects. Drive project cash flow and oversee currency risk and tax issues. Ensure the correctness of projects’ balance sheets and income statements, as well as cash flow and monthly/quarterly forecasts.
• Participate in opportunity and risk identification, ensuring that all required mitigation actions are timely implemented. Actively support the Project Manager in coordinating and preparing monthly project reviews, and participate in preparing and analyzing the projects’ cost reports.
• Support claim management, back-charges, insurance cases, and monitor proper follow-up with the Contract Manager, Project Manager upstream (towards customers), side-stream (towards consortia partners if applicable), and downstream (towards suppliers).
• Support the Project Manager in adherence to corporate governance, integrity, assurance, internal control, group charter, and country-specific finance directives and instructions.
• Act as deputy and support the Operating Unit Controller on business controlling topics.

Your background

• A bachelor’s degree or master's degree in finance is required.
• 5-10 years of project controlling or finance experience in the Energy or T&D industries is preferred.
• Customer and business-oriented with strong commercial and communication skills.
• Proficiency in both spoken and written English is required.
