Post: Project Architect – Fixed Term Contract till October 25

Position Summary

The Project Architect will work closely under the supervision of the Senior Project Manager. The position requires a high degree of independent decision-making, professionalism, and client management. Within the authority limits, the candidate is expected to be capable of assuming complete accountability for all essential functions and responsibilities. The Project Architect coordinates and exercises functional authority for design management, including planning, organization, control, integration, and completion of assigned projects.

Job Responsibilities

  • Provide design sketches, prepare budgets, meet with clients, collect project requirements, and develop the scope of work, specifications, cut sheets, and BOQs.
  • Create designs that meet client specifications.
  • Propose and manage project budgets and time estimates.
  • Act as an intermediary between the client and the design team.
  • Submit progress reports to keep the client informed about the project status.
  • Plan and implement modifications to complete working drawing sets.
  • Monitor the design process from conception through construction administration to ensure consistency in design intent.
  • Ensure construction detail documentation complies with quality control standards and best practices.
  • Attend field reviews, on-site meetings, and project meetings; coordinate schedule reviews and sample submissions.
  • Participate in team meetings to resolve project issues and coordinate scheduling.
  • Ensure adherence to technical standards and resolve related issues.
  • Review the accuracy of calculations, estimates, plans, and completed reports.
  • Independently perform assignments and develop solutions, with guidance only on assignment objectives.
  • Oversee the preparation of technical drawings by less experienced architects.
  • Manage minutes and documentation from consultant coordination meetings.
  • Maintain historical project data and document on-site observations and reviews.
  • Draft observation reports as part of project close-out procedures.

Qualifications And Skills Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture.
  • 4–6 years of experience in construction projects utilizing the International Building Code and ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) guidelines.
  • Excellent design and drafting skills with proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) software.
  • Strong organizational, project management, and planning abilities, including the capacity to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Analytical mindset with excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Must be physically capable of occasionally standing, walking, sitting, reaching with hands and arms, climbing or balancing, stooping or kneeling, speaking and hearing, and using fingers and hands to operate tools or controls.
  • Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • While the role is primarily office-based, it may require occasional travel to stakeholder offices, production facilities, or industrial/construction sites. Environmental conditions may vary depending on the location.
  • Demonstrated advanced technical knowledge in architecture, with a solid understanding of related disciplines.
  • Proficient in specification writing and experienced in using MasterSpec (U.S. version).
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • PMP (Project Management Professional) certification is an advantage.
