Program Director

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Programme Director to lead the successful execution of a major enterprise-wide transformation initiative centered around SAP S/4HANA. This position requires end-to-end accountability—from initial planning and requirement gathering through execution and final delivery—while driving measurable value for the business.

The ideal candidate will lead multidisciplinary teams, manage programme governance, and navigate complex stakeholder environments. The first phase of delivery will follow a structured waterfall approach, transitioning to an Agile Release Train model for ongoing development and enhancements.

Key Responsibilities

• Drive the full lifecycle delivery of a complex SAP S/4HANA implementation, ensuring alignment with scope, timeline, budget, and quality targets.
• Lead benefits realization efforts, ensuring that the business derives long-term value from the transformation.
• Develop and maintain a comprehensive, strategic programme roadmap aligned with organizational objectives.
• Oversee requirement-gathering processes, guiding the team in defining priorities and delivering effective solutions.
• Act as the key liaison between executive leadership and the programme team, ensuring visibility, clarity, and alignment through consistent communication.
• Lead governance across all delivery streams, managing scope, change control, and overall delivery assurance.
• Track and control programme finances, in close collaboration with finance and procurement stakeholders to optimize spend.
• Proactively mitigate risks and manage dependencies, supporting teams in identifying solutions to complex delivery challenges.
• Ensure appropriate resource allocation, forecasting, and commercial alignment in collaboration with internal operational teams.
• Provide regular executive-level reporting based on pre-defined KPIs and metrics.
• Champion adherence to delivery frameworks, partnering with PMO teams to uphold best practices across both waterfall and agile environments.
• Build and mentor a high-performing leadership team composed of project/programme managers, technical leaders, and support functions.
• Collaborate on talent development and workforce planning, including recruitment, performance management, and training strategies for delivery-focused roles.

Experience & Certifications

• Minimum of 12 years in programme or large-scale project leadership roles.
• At least 8 years of experience delivering SAP-based programmes.
• Proven track record of leading at least two end-to-end SAP S/4HANA implementations, particularly in finance and procurement domains.
• Recognized certifications such as PMP, PgMP, or equivalent experience in structured programme management.
• Prior experience managing delivery teams of 30+ resources, across geographies or workstreams.

Technical & Functional Knowledge

• Solid understanding of enterprise finance and procurement processes.
• Familiarity with advanced business transformation tools such as process mining, automation, and AI-driven analysis.
• Expertise in blending traditional and agile delivery methods in a hybrid programme environment.

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or related field (required).
• Master’s degree in Business, Finance, or Technology (preferred).
