This role involves overseeing production planning, resource management, team leadership, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations. Southend Prefab seeks production managers with a strong background in steel and aluminum manufacturing, specifically in temporary and permanent structural constructions such as tents, marquees, and porta cabins. Overall, the role of a Production Manager in a tent manufacturing company is multifaceted, requiring a balance of technical expertise, leadership, and strategic planning to ensure the successful production of high-quality tentstructures. Key Responsibilities • Production Planning and Scheduling: Develop and implement production plans to meet customer demands while optimizing inventory levels. Create production schedules, allocate resources efficiently, and monitor production progress to meet targets. • Resource Management: Manage the allocation of materials, equipment, and labor to optimize productivity and minimize costs. Oversee the maintenance and repair of production machinery and equipment. • Quality Assurance: Ensure that products meet stringent quality standards and specifications through regular quality checks. Implement quality control measures to reduce defects and rework, enhancing overall product quality. • Team Leadership: Lead and motivate project teams, including production supervisors and laborers. Conduct regular meetings to review progress and address any issues. • Budget and Cost Management: Develop and manage the production budget, identifying opportunities to reduce operational costs. Implement cost-effective production strategies, including lean manufacturing principles, to optimize resource utilization and reduce waste. • Compliance and Safety: Ensure adherence to health and safety regulations related to production and compliance. Implement safety guidelines and practices to maintain a safe working environment.
• Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., metallurgy, engineering, manufacturing) or equivalent experience. • Experience: Proven experience of minimum 5 years in steel/aluminum production management, with GCC experience in a supervisory or management role. • Technical Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of steel/aluminum production processes, metallurgy, and steel quality control. • Leadership Skills: Exceptional leadership and team management abilities. Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills in a manufacturing environment. • Communication: Effective communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic manufacturing environment.
