Our client is a leading manufacturer of instrumentation, control, data cables, fire-resistant cables, and low voltage power cables. They are looking to hire a Production Engineer with process knowledge.
Job Responsibilities
The Process Engineer is responsible for establishing and implementing processing techniques. They support the production team in executing production plans and achieving targets set by the Production Manager or management. The supervisor is responsible for implementing continuous improvement plans.
- Prepare standard operating instructions (SOPs) for machines and ensure compliance, review, and updates.
- Conduct process trials to establish new raw materials and equipment suitable for requirements.
- Analyze process scrap to identify root causes and minimize scrap within standard limits.
- Establish standards for material consumption to maintain within design values and reduce usage without compromising quality.
- Communicate with material and machine suppliers to resolve issues during the process.
- Analyze Corrective Action Reports (CARs) and implement corrective and preventive actions daily.
- Arrange tools and dies for machines based on cable sizes to ensure uninterrupted production; perform regular checks and maintenance.
- Coordinate with the production supervisor to meet planned targets.
- Ensure machines operate at rated speeds and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Suggest and propose new machines or technologies to improve productivity and reduce scrap.
- Maintain embossing wheels records and stock for cost savings.
- Lead cost-saving initiatives by increasing speed, reducing scrap and material consumption, and improving processing methods.
- Prepare monthly reports on improvements, problem-solving, CARs, and cost-saving initiatives.
- Analyze production losses related to manpower, machinery, materials, methods, and environment, and report daily.

Minimum Job Requirements
- Education: Diploma/Engineering Degree in Mechanical, Plastic, or Polymer Technology.
- Computer Skills: MS Office.
- Language: Proficient in spoken, written, and reading skills in English.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years in the cable industry in a process or production engineering role, with knowledge of cable terms, machinery, materials, and processes.
