Job description

Perform chemical analysis & physical property testing of material & products.

Research new products from trial through to commercialisation and improve product lines.

Coordinate & perform testing.

Communicate result of analysis & research.

Evaluate current processes and develop improvements to safety, quality & efficiency.

Create standards and specifications for processes, facilities, products & tests.

Assist in establishment of timeline and budgets.

Design plant and equipment configuration so that they can be readily adapted to suit the product range and the process technologies involved, taking environmental and economic aspects into account.

Design, install and commission new production plants, including monitoring developments and troubleshooting.

Perform routine calibration and troubleshooting of instruments.

Provide training and mentorship to technical staff.

Writing of technical reports.

Chemical Engineer Qualification & Skills

Applied knowledge of analytical chemistry techniques.

Demonstrated ability to solve highly technical problems.

Strong technical writing ability.

Direct experience with the use of spreadsheet & database software to compile, analyze, and present data.

Familiarity with process improvement methodologies (Six Sigma, lean manufacturing).

Ability to execute tasks with minimal oversight.

Excellent presentation and verbal communication skills in English & Hindi.

Chemical Engineer Education & Experience Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering or a related field.

Master's degree in chemical engineering or a related field desirable.

Five to Seven years experience in a production field of Water Treatment Chemicals is mandatory.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).

Strong technical background in water and wastewater treatment processes.

What to expect

Work may take place in a lab, office or processing plant. Development work may progress from lab to plant or on field.

Safety is a high priority in chemical industries, and hygiene is critical in food water treatment production. In certain circumstances, you'll need to wear safety or protective gear.

Travel and overseas work depend on the company's requirements. Travel and overseas postings are only occasionally necessary, while overseas projects are the norm.
