Salt is seeking an experienced Product Owner to transform the technology experience for store colleagues across its retail network in Dubai. You will own the roadmap for store technology, devices, and inventory, collaborating closely with Product, Engineering, Infrastructure and Data teams to deliver meaningful improvements at pace.

The role requires a strong track record in retail tech transformation, excellent stakeholder management at C-suite level, and a hands-on approach to modernising

Product Owner – Retail Technology

About the Role

My client is looking for an experienced Retail Technology Product Owner to own and transform the technology experience used by thousands of store colleagues across its retail business.

This is a highly hands-on role focused on store technology, colleague experience and retail transformation. You will simplify and modernise the technology estate across stores, reducing unnecessary devices, applications and vendor complexity while making it easier for colleagues to do their jobs.

You will own the roadmap across infrastructure, devices, colleague applications and inventory technology, working closely with Product, Engineering, Infrastructure, Architecture, Data and business teams to deliver meaningful improvements at pace.

Key Responsibilities

• Own the store technology and colleague experience roadmap, ensuring technology is reliable, simple and fit for purpose across stores and geographies.
• Lead improvements across Wi-Fi, hardware, devices and connectivity, working with infrastructure teams to resolve issues impacting store operations.
• Develop and deliver a strategy to rationalise and consolidate the store device estate, reducing the number of devices colleagues need to use.
• Consolidate the colleague application landscape, reducing multiple vendor applications, portals and dashboards and moving towards a simpler, unified colleague experience.
• Lead the front-end transformation of the colleague application, including the migration from Xamarin to React Native and the redesign of the experience from the ground up.
• Own the modernisation of inventory management technology, including the replacement of legacy systems and reducing manual processes for store teams.
• Act as the Subject Matter Expert for store and colleague technology, influencing architecture, technology decisions and the wider product roadmap.
• Work closely with salesfloor colleagues to understand operational pain points and translate them into clear product requirements.
• Partner with Engineering, QA, Infrastructure, Data, Architecture and Business teams to deliver products and features end-to-end.
• Prioritise the product backlog and ensure teams are focused on delivering measurable business and colleague outcomes.
• Manage senior stakeholders, including C-suite and executive-level stakeholders, communicating product strategy, progress and impact with clarity.
• Use data, analytics and user feedback to identify opportunities and measure product performance.
• Bring an AI-first mindset, using AI tools, coding assistants and agentic workflows to prototype, automate and improve product delivery.

About You

My client is looking for a retail technology professional who understands both the realities of the salesfloor and the technology required to support it.

You will ideally have:

• 10+ years of retail experience, with exposure to both store operations and central/head-office environments.
• A strong track record of delivering retail technology transformation.
• Experience owning technology used by frontline/store colleagues at scale.
• Strong understanding of store infrastructure, devices, hardware and connectivity.
• Experience simplifying or consolidating applications, platforms, vendors or technology estates.
• Experience owning mobile or colleague-facing applications.
• Exposure to React Native or comparable modern mobile technologies.
• Strong product and UX instincts, with evidence of products and experiences you have personally delivered.
• Experience modernising or replacing legacy retail systems, ideally including inventory or store-management technology.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to engage C-suite and senior business leaders.
• Strong end-to-end delivery skills and a proven ability to ship impactful products quickly.
• Strong data literacy, including experience working with Power BI, APIs, vendor data and raw data sources.
• An AI-forward mindset, with practical experience using AI coding assistants, agents and other AI tools to prototype or automate workflows.
• The ability to lead through influence and collaborate effectively across Product, Engineering, Infrastructure, Architecture, Data and Operations.
