UD Trucks is known for our pioneering technologies and products within the commercial automotive industry.
Job Purpose:
Ownership of product strategy and long-term product roadmap for UD Trucks Middle East, East, and North Africa region (MEENA). To own and drive product management, product & technical support, homologation & type approval, competition & business intelligence, sales competence development, and bodybuilder relationships.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- To be owner of product strategy and long-term product plan for UD Trucks in the MEENA region.
- Lead all product-related projects for MEENA, championing, owning, and coordinating all new product initiatives.
- Own product specifications for market offerings and solutions to technical issues.
- Manage product specifications for factory orders; supervise importers, sales managers, and support for order entry in the VSS system.
- Oversee homologation and type approval activities with UD regulation experts and UD Trucks International Sales (UDIS).
- Collaborate with Sales Managers to provide technical recommendations for products offered to customers, including standard and non-standard models.
- Supervise Importer Sales Executives, Sales Managers, and Product Managers to provide technical support to customers and bodybuilders.
- Coordinate with Competence Development to ensure necessary product training is provided to importers and bodybuilders.
- Support special product activities such as field tests, demos, and marketing & sales events.
- Coordinate with marketing to ensure updated spec sheets, brochures, and website content.
- Ensure markets have the latest product materials and information.
- Conduct field trials of new products to establish value propositions and gather feedback for product improvements.
- Review product performance and customer responses, providing feedback and recommendations to improve products.
- Request new products, components, and options based on market needs.
- Initiate Product Modification Requests (PMRs) and follow up on their implementation.
- Maintain ownership of Pro builder specifications.
- Coordinate market and competitor analysis updates.
- Support long-term volume forecasting and budgeting as needed.
- Assist in preparing for internal and partner Business Review Meetings (BRMs).
Required Competencies:
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or related fields.
- 8-10 years of techno-commercial experience in product management, strategy, or sales engineering.
- Strong technical support experience in the automotive industry, preferably trucks.
- Knowledge of UD Trucks' product structure and sales system is advantageous.
- Team-oriented, customer-focused, motivated, and goal-driven.
- Excellent communication skills; knowledge of Japanese is a plus.
- Proficient in MS Office.
- Leadership, negotiation, and interpersonal skills are valuable.
