Job Overview
The Procurement Supervisor is responsible for leading and coordinating procurement operations to ensure the timely, cost-efficient, and quality acquisition of goods and services that support business objectives. This role involves supervising a team, negotiating with suppliers, and maintaining strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners. The ideal candidate demonstrates a commitment to operational excellence, ethical procurement practices, and continuous improvement.
Working cross-functionally, the Procurement Supervisor ensures compliance with corporate governance, safety, and quality standards while fostering a collaborative and inclusive work environment. This position plays a vital role in optimizing procurement processes and driving supplier performance in line with the company s strategic and financial goals.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the end-to-end procurement process, ensuring timely creation of purchase orders and accurate goods receipt or service confirmation.
- Supervise and mentor a team of Procurement Specialists, driving performance and compliance across procure-to-pay processes.
- Review and process purchase requisitions from operational and manufacturing teams, ensuring alignment with business requirements.
- Source goods and services in accordance with technical specifications, procurement guidelines, and cost objectives.
- Request and evaluate supplier quotations; lead commercial negotiations to secure the best value in terms of cost, quality, and delivery.
- Implement competitive bidding processes to reduce procurement costs and enhance supplier offerings.
- Resolve payment issues in collaboration with Accounts Payable and act as a liaison between suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- Support and participate in supplier contract negotiations, relationship management, and performance reviews.
- Collaborate with sourcing and category management to rationalize the supplier base and improve procurement efficiency.
- Monitor and report supplier non-conformances, ensuring timely resolution of quality or service-related issues.
- Ensure procurement activities comply with corporate governance, ethics, safety, security, and environmental standards.
- Promote a safety-first culture and demonstrate leadership in health, safety, and environmental (HSE) practices.
- Maintain clear and effective communication with stakeholders at all levels, ensuring expectations and responsibilities are well-defined.
- Manage procurement budgets and expenses, ensuring adherence to financial procedures and timelines.
- Lead team development through coaching, performance reviews, and engagement in talent management initiatives.
- Collaborate with HR and Training to attract, retain, and develop a high-performing, diverse procurement team.

- In-depth understanding of procurement processes, supplier relationship management, and industry standards.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire, manage, and develop a team.
- Excellent negotiation, analytical, and communication skills.
- High attention to detail and accuracy, with strong organizational and time-management abilities.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., pivot tables, formulas, data analysis).
- Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Strong customer service orientation with a collaborative and problem-solving mindset.
- Adaptability to shifting priorities and evolving operational needs.
- Familiarity with complex procurement contracts and long-term supplier agreements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor s degree in supply chain management, Business Administration, Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum 7 years of experience in procurement, supply chain, planning, or materials management within the oil and gas industry.
- Previous leadership experience in a supervisory or managerial capacity.
- Experience with Material Resource Planning (MRP) and Demand Resource Planning (DRP) systems.
- Knowledge of purchasing contracts and supplier agreements.
