Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Procurement Specialist to join our team. The incumbent will provide procurement expertise and assist stakeholders in planning, sourcing, and managing procurement arrangements to meet organizational objectives. The role also involves maintaining strong supplier relationships and ensuring timely delivery of orders.

Key Responsibilities

• Scout and onboard competent suppliers to enhance the vendor base.
• Develop and execute sourcing strategies for capex requirements particularly heavy vehicles, earthmoving equipment, and waste management specialty equipment & machinery.
• Prepare and manage Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and Requests for Quotations (RFQs) with clear and detailed documentation.
• Coordinate procurement activities using tools like Material Master, Service Master, and Vendor Master, ensuring effective planning and forecasting.
• Manage supplier relationships to foster, collaboration, improve performance, and ensure compliance with contracts.
• Implement supplier performance metrics and continuous improvement initiatives to drive excellence.
• Support demand planning and budgeting through accurate forecasts and cost optimization strategies.
• Identify procurement risks and develop mitigation plans to ensure smooth operations.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Business Administration, or equivalent.
• At least 5 years of procurement experience, specializing in Fleet Maintenance and machinery sourcing.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in a large organization.

Knowledge and Skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP systems (SAP Ariba, SAP or Oracle).
• Strong negotiation and supplier relationship management skills.
• Analytical skills with experience in tools like Power BI or Tableau.
• Project management expertise and relevant certifications (CSCP or CIPS).
• Knowledge of procurement laws and global sourcing practices.
