Procurement Specialist

Location: Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates

Specific Duties:

  1. Prepare award presentation for Tender Committee approvals.
  2. Review requests for variation orders and ensure reasonable market pricing, liaising with requesters/consultants for clarifications.
  3. Ensure compliance of purchasing activities with corporate governance.
  4. Resolve issues related to procurement processes, logistics, and tenders.
  5. Maintain documentation for all purchases/tenders.
  6. Align procurement practices with the organization's sustainability goals.
  7. Research and identify potential suppliers or vendors.
  8. Identify and mitigate procurement risks, including supply chain disruptions and compliance issues.
  9. Ensure quality, pricing, and reliability of requirements.
  10. Negotiate pricing, terms, and conditions with suppliers to find cost-saving opportunities.
  11. Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders.
  12. Perform procurement activities in IT systems, including maintaining price catalogs.
  13. Track procurement plans to meet department goals and KPIs.
  14. Analyze markets for vendor sources and product availability.
  15. Ensure compliance with corporate governance.
  16. Manage supplier relationships.
  17. Perform other reasonable tasks as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Graduate degree or related procurement-specific qualification.
  • CIPS certification is an added advantage.
  • At least 5 years of procurement experience, preferably within the region. Experience in education procurement is preferred.

Job Specific Knowledge & Skills:

  • Fluent in English, both written and oral; Arabic is a plus.
  • Attention to detail and diligent follow-up skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and work under pressure.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of agreement terms and conditions.
  • Proficiency in procurement software (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
  • Strong negotiation skills.
  • Ability to analyze procurement metrics and KPIs.
