What you'll be doing:

The role holder is responsible for managing IT General Procurement and contracting activities for GMG in a transparent, timely, and cost-efficient manner. This includes managing the group's contractors and suppliers through prequalification, tendering, contracting, and regular monitoring. The role also involves developing guidelines that govern procurement and contracting processes.

What we need:

  • Assist in developing departmental policies, standards, rules, and procedures for cost-effective procurement of materials, goods, and services.
  • Supervise procurement and contract management activities, ensuring adherence to GMG policies, procedures, and processes, and implement improvements to enhance workflow.
  • Oversee physical verification and reconciliation of stock monthly, ensuring compliance with group cost criteria.
  • Maintain controls over consumption patterns, costs, and inventory carrying costs to set inventory controls and monitor storage costs.
  • Manage the competitive bidding process, including generating RFPs/RFQs, receiving, opening, evaluating bids, and safeguarding received bids.
  • Monitor contract progress and payment status, providing appropriate project contract reports.
  • Develop supplier sourcing strategies in consultation with stakeholders to optimize cost and quality.
  • Negotiate with vendors and suppliers on major services and critical contracts, including prices, credit terms, and other conditions.

People Management:

The incumbent has no direct supervisory responsibilities but is expected to engage effectively within their function and collaborate across teams. This role contributes operationally and/or by offering expertise, guidance, and support to align with organizational goals.

Functional/Technical Competencies:

Manage archiving of all procurement documentation, including RFI, RFQ/RFP, proposals, quotations, QCS, payment vouchers, and other related documents. Demonstrate analytical ability, communication skills, organization and planning skills, negotiation, and problem-solving capabilities.
