Job description

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Procurement Officer to manage the sourcing and purchasing of materials, services, and equipment for our real estate development and construction projects. The ideal candidate will have solid experience in the construction and real estate industry, excellent negotiation skills, and a deep understanding of vendor management, cost control, and procurement compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Procurement Planning: Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with project timelines and budgets.
  2. Supplier Sourcing & Evaluation: Identify, evaluate, and qualify reliable suppliers and subcontractors for construction materials, MEP supplies, finishing items, and professional services.
  3. Quotation & Tendering: Prepare RFQs / RFPs, analyze bids, conduct negotiations, and prepare comparative statements for management review.
  4. Contract Management: Assist in drafting and managing purchase agreements, service contracts, and long-term supplier agreements.
  5. Purchase Orders & Logistics: Issue POs, track deliveries, and coordinate with logistics and site teams to ensure timely delivery of goods and services.
  6. Cost Control: Monitor and control procurement budgets, ensuring optimal pricing without compromising quality.
  7. Compliance & Documentation: Ensure all procurement processes adhere to company policies, ISO standards, and regulatory requirements. Maintain accurate procurement records.
  8. Vendor Relationship Management: Build strong relationships with vendors to secure favorable terms and resolve any supply issues or disputes.
  9. Coordination with Site Teams: Liaise with project managers, engineers, and quantity surveyors to understand material requirements and project specifications.
  10. Inventory Monitoring: Work with storekeepers to track stock levels and reorder supplies as needed to prevent delays.

Requirements:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  2. 3-5 years of procurement experience in the construction or real estate development industry.
  3. Strong understanding of construction materials, finishing items, and MEP equipment.
  4. Proven ability to negotiate contracts and manage vendors effectively.
  5. Familiarity with procurement software (ERP systems like Oracle, SAP, or similar).
  6. Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  7. Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple procurement activities simultaneously.
  8. Knowledge of local and international suppliers is a plus.
  9. UAE driving license preferred (if applicable).
