Procurement Officer

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Procurement Officer to manage the sourcing and purchasing of materials, equipment, and services required for construction projects. The ideal candidate will ensure timely delivery of quality products at the best value, while complying with company policies and construction industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop procurement strategies aligned with project timelines and budgets.
• Source and evaluate suppliers, negotiate terms, and establish contracts for materials and subcontractor services.
• Ensure timely and cost-effective procurement of construction materials, plant, and equipment.
• Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and delivery information.
• Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and site supervisors to forecast demand and delivery schedules.
• Conduct supplier evaluations and maintain an approved vendor list.
• Monitor market trends, competitor strategies, and material availability to manage risks and opportunities.
• Prepare purchase orders and ensure compliance with procurement policies and procedures.
• Track and report key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness.
• Address and resolve any supply chain or delivery issues that arise during the project lifecycle.
• Ensure that all procured items meet the required quality standards and specifications.

Desired Candidate Profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or related field.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in procurement within the construction industry.
• Strong negotiation and communication skills.
• Knowledge of construction materials, equipment, and subcontractor markets.
• Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong analytical and organizational skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple deadlines.
• Understanding of construction contracts and legal compliance.
