Job Purpose
As a Procurement Manager, you will manage the acquisition of goods and/or services in collaboration with the business/user department, contributing process orientation and commercial expertise. You will facilitate and coordinate effective cross-functional teamwork and act as the account manager/interface between Emirates and selected high-value suppliers.
Responsibilities include:
- Sourcing and supplier selection: Formulate sourcing plans, including negotiation strategies, within the department's approved budget.
- Identify and evaluate supply sources that meet Emirates requirements, minimizing total lifecycle cost and business risk.
- Supplier Relationship Management: Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, create comprehensive supplier assessments, and benchmark performance.
- Address any shortfalls identified with suppliers to meet business needs promptly.
- Stakeholder Management: Support stakeholders in procurement initiatives, including spend assessment, business case preparation, cost monitoring, and compliance adherence.
- Ensure all procurement processes align with corporate policies and regulatory requirements, are documented properly, and are continuously reviewed for effectiveness. Lead performance management and ensure SLA delivery.
Power Plant Specifics:
- Sourcing: Manage power plant sourcing, including engine and APU selection, spare parts, and warranty agreements.
- Operational Support: Liaise with OEMs for support, negotiate leased units, and support defect rectification.
- Redelivery Optimization: Coordinate internal stakeholders to ensure timely and cost-effective redeliveries of leased units.
- EEMC and EFTA Support: Provide procurement support for EEMC and EFTA, including negotiations and business case preparations.
- Contracting: Draft and negotiate contracts covering operational and cost terms, ensuring compliance and timely execution.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree or Honours in Business or Engineering (Mechanical/Aeronautical preferred).
- 8 years of engineering experience in procurement and aircraft supply chain management.
- Experience in an airline OEM or maintenance organization.
- Extensive knowledge of supplier performance management and relationship structuring.
- Understanding of airline engineering and maintenance activities.
- Strong project management and market benchmarking skills.
- Experience with aviation maintenance services and familiarity with GCAA, FAA, EASA regulations is advantageous.
- Aircraft domain expertise is a plus.
- Strong analytical skills.
