Job description

Azizi Developments is seeking a dynamic and commercially astute Category Manager – PMV (Plant, Machinery & Vehicles) to lead the strategic sourcing, procurement, and lifecycle management of heavy equipment and vehicle assets across our construction and factory verticals.

Reporting to the Head of Procurement, this role will be responsible for optimizing vendor relationships, driving cost efficiencies, and aligning PMV procurement strategies with project timelines and operational needs. You will take ownership of a diverse portfolio that includes excavators, cranes, concrete pumps, forklifts, generators, and light vehicles—ensuring availability, serviceability, and cost control throughout the asset lifecycle.

This is a critical role that demands deep market knowledge, strong negotiation acumen, and hands-on experience managing equipment procurement for large-scale construction or industrial environments. You will collaborate closely with site managers, workshop teams, finance, and senior leadership to ensure that PMV requirements are met proactively and sustainably.

If you are highly organized, solution-oriented, and experienced in managing large PMV fleets and suppliers, this is your opportunity to play a key role in powering Dubai’s most ambitious developments.

Responsibilities

Lead end-to-end procurement for all PMV categories—equipment, spare parts, rentals, and services.

Develop and implement category strategies to ensure timely availability of machinery for projects.

Build strong vendor relationships and negotiate contracts that maximize value and performance.

Conduct market analysis, benchmarking, and cost modeling to identify savings opportunities.

Oversee fleet planning, utilization monitoring, and lifecycle cost management.

Coordinate with workshop, plant, and logistics teams to align procurement with operational needs.

Maintain up-to-date knowledge of PMV technologies, suppliers, and regulatory requirements.

Manage vendor evaluations, asset inspections, and technical compliance processes.

Ensure alignment with HSE standards, legal regulations, and company policies in all procurement actions.

Prepare category dashboards, reports, and forecasts for senior management review.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Supply Chain, or related technical discipline.

Minimum 10-15 years of experience in PMV procurement or fleet management within construction or manufacturing sectors.

Proven track record of managing heavy equipment procurement and rental agreements in the UAE.

Strong understanding of machinery specs, fleet maintenance, and asset lifecycle optimization.

Excellent negotiation, vendor management, and analytical skills.

Required Skills

Deep technical knowledge of construction equipment, plant vehicles, and support systems.

Proficiency in procurement systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle), MS Excel, and reporting tools.

Strong command of contract management, cost control, and risk mitigation practices.

Ability to interpret technical specifications, drawings, and O&M manuals.

Familiarity with UAE transport and equipment compliance regulations.

Strong communication, problem-solving, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
