Job summary

Desert Group in the UAE is seeking a Procurement Manager/Lead to shape sourcing strategy, oversee end-to-end procurement, and drive cost efficiency across projects.

You will lead supplier negotiations, manage contracts and procurement planning, and build a high‑performing team while coordinating with Projects, Operations, Finance and Accounts to ensure timely material availability.

This senior role demands strong negotiation, leadership and organizational skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Procurement, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Minimum 10 years of procurement experience, preferably in Landscaping, Agriculture, Contracting, FM, Hotels, or related industries.
• Excellent negotiation and supplier management skills.
• Strong cost management and commercial acumen.
• Experience in contract management and procurement planning.
• Proven team management and leadership skills.
• Proficiency in ERP/Procurement systems and MS Office.
• Strong communication, coordination, and organizational abilities.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple site visits and supplier interactions.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute procurement plans based on operational and project requirements.
• Manage the end-to-end procurement cycle, from requisition to PO closure.
• Lead supplier negotiations and secure competitive pricing and commercial terms.
• Manage procurement costs, budgets, and cost-saving initiatives.
• Handle contracts, commercial terms, and supplier agreements.
• Monitor POs, back orders, and deliveries to ensure timely material availability.
• Coordinate with Projects, Operations, Finance, and Accounts teams.
• Lead and manage the procurement team, ensuring effective task allocation and performance.
• Ensure compliance with procurement policies, procedures, and approval requirements.
• Prepare procurement reports covering costs, savings, supplier performance, and procurement efficiency.
